Meh. I could understand if he was being tackled by like 6 dudes. BUT he was all by himself. It wouldn't had made a difference. If they had reviewed the play, they would have ended up on the 1 yard line and ran the ball in. It would have been a waste of time to challenge it.

It would have been a fumble [if he lost possession prior to goal line] into the end zone then out of bounds. That is a touchback and Panthers ball at the 20.
11:04 PM on 11/11/2012
He prematurely let go of the ball as if he was in the end zone.

The refs missed it, but it wouldn't have changed anything. The Broncos beat the brakes off of them.

This is a big deal when you come from parts of the country where there is nothing else in life.

Absolutely not a touchdown. You are required to have control of the ball when you cross the plane, Obviously. He didn't have control. Think before you cross, dude.

He would have scored regardless. Non-story.
10:20 PM on 11/11/2012
what are you talking about, it would have been a safety. He should have scored, but he didn't...because he threw the ball out of his own end zone.

Wrong end zone for a safety. They could have called it a touchback.

No: at worst, the ball would've been spotted at the opponent's one-yard line.

Football. The new God. Makes front page news. How stupid is that?

A sports article in the Sports section. The insanity of it all!

Who cares if they made the right call or not? For what they get paid, does it really make a difference? Insanity is the correct word, indeed.

It's kind of like the phantom tag in a baseball double play.

He was a fly's eyebrow hair away from the goal line and the only defenders near him were yards behind and sucking in his dust.

Let's just hope his coach punishes him with extra laps in practice to make sure he concentrates better.

Wouldn't have changed the outcome of the game...however it should have been addressed correctly and no touchdown and kicked to the other team. In any event...bring back the interum refs they did just as well as these flag throwen fuuls.

hahaha "panthers got robbed" it was an easy win for Broncos, calm down.
09:51 PM on 11/11/2012
Now let's talk about the non-touchdown in the Penn State-Nebraska game yesterday. It was only a non-touchdown in the officials' minds.

You mean the fumble?

Of course it was a touchdown. There's was no one within a million miles of him. He's not a bright fellow though. Lord I hate touchdown celebrations ans schtick like this.

So if someone was within a million miles, it wouldn't have been a touchdown? How close exactly would someone have to be to change what he did? The rule has nothing to do with how close someone else is. It should have been reviewed, and it should have not been a touchdown.

I'd say the defender should be within reach enough to cause a fumble. Otherwise it's just a waste of time and a pointless review.

What I just saw was the ball floating free and crossing the goal line ahead of the runner.
If possesion makes it a touchdown...it wasn't posessed...its not a touchdown.
10:08 PM on 11/11/2012
It's a touch down - all td's are reviewed upstairs, if there was any evidence it was not a td, it would have been called back.
