i dont see any felony criminal incident yet---i mean writers like hitchcock and stephen king get into all kinds of fantasies in their writings---all he has to say is he is a police writer like joseph wambaugh---he can even own an oversize oven and 5 pounds of jerk spice legally---he may have committed a misdemeanor with access to police files and historically those cases are handled administratively---the first felony would be committed with the kidnapping unless he was conspiring with another person for their first thanksgiving meal tradition...

I have sexual fantasies about Barbara Walters and I ought to be locked up. But come to think of it...those old lady legs and neck waddle do look tender.

There is a big difference betw mere sexual fantasies and planning to murder, cook, and cannabalize women. And in wanting to keep them alive as long as possible on a spit is torturing them as well. And picking out specific women and saying "her days are numbered" is beyond a fantasy. He was so specific his plots were beyond fantasy it appears..

We rope wanna be "terrorists" up in FBI stings which amount to entrapment, this guy should go to jail too. Same thing.

Even if he did not commit any of these crimes yet, he has said that it was a fantasy. No sense in giving him the chance to ever act one out. Put him down
09:57 AM on 11/20/2012
Is anyone at all surprised he pleaded not guilty? This is exactly the question I had when this story first came out. Of course I'm greatful they were able to stop him before he did any harm...but what is the likelihood he will be able to be put away or have him institutionalized to get the help he so obviously and desperately needs.

Even having fantasies like that ought to be good enough reason to lock this loon up.

For all of those who think this man is "innocent" of any crime because they have only been "fantasies" so far, and that we shouldn't convict him because of his thoughts, I beg to differ. We DO prosecute people all the time due to thier "fantasies" and thoughts. The would be pedophiles who have never actually harmed a child themselves (yet) go to jail for thier thoughts. Terrorists go to jail for thier "plans" to harm people (even if they haven't committed the crime yet).
Also, the same people crying on here about how he shouldn't be punished for his thoughts are the SAME people who scream that someone should have "seen the signs" and stopped other crimes from happening; examples...the Colorado movie theatre massacre, the Colorado Columbine School shooting, Virginia Tech shooting, etc. Before the deed, everyone screams for thier "rights", but after the deed, everyone screams "there were signs". You can't have it both ways. This man not only broke the law and used police files, he stored information on his computer, had his plans layed out, and was no doubt going to try to carry out at least one. He had friends perpetuating his thoughts, and that only encourages a true event.

You are not looking at any of the comments prior to mine, then.  They are all over saying he shouldn't get in trouble because of his thoughts, that he never actually carried out any of these "fantasies" of his.

obama voters - look ashamed

Looks like obama's economy is starting to hit home when even the police have to resort to killing and eating people because they can't afford food.

As kooky as it sounds, it is just possible that he was fantasizing and writing it down was a way to release the fantasy. Sounds like he was going through a stressful time in his life, estranged from his wife, and he was venting. The research he did would make for a great crime novel.
In reality, he did not do anything that would break any laws, other than that he inappropriately used data from official files. He knew many of the women so having contact with them would not constitute stalking.
On the surface, his writings are sick, he definitely has a problem, but I doubt that he did anything that could result in a trial. Probably will get fired for the inappropriate use of data.
