Who are these sad, sad, gullible and misguided americans who believe that the bottom 98% of us, are all dependent on the top 2% for our jobs? My bosses have never made 200k or more a year and they have had a sucessfull business in the same town for 25 years. Sooooo many people don't understand how small businesses are taxed, that's why they fall for this BS. People don't realize that just because a small  Read More...

Cantor went on tv several times to proclaim that the stimulus (41% tax cuts) would not produce even one job. He then went to Richmond and told his constituents that the Richmond to Washington RR (paid for by stimulus) would produce 90,000 - 160,000 jobs - a bill he and every repub in the House voted against. Cantor is a total hypocrit who has nothing to say but "protect the rich" - typical repub hype.

It's unfortunate that Mr. Thomas, the airport cook, is mistaken about which political party is on his side and that Rep. Cantor is not about to set him straight on that.

" Raising the (income tax) rate, Cantor says, would not help people like the cook get back to his profession of choice." That dog won't hunt anymore. BTW, Eric, did you leave him a big tip?

Cantor is a disgrace. He is a crook who somehow got elected from an affluent district. Whenever one is dealing with Cantor, double check the figures, the "facts" and make sure your wallet is still in your pocket.

Even multi-millionaires can only live in 6 to 10 houses! Letting them keep their tax-cuts won't increase home building unless 99%ers burn down their old mansions!

The man started working the job he wanted very early in Bush's first term, and got hammered so bad that he had to take the job he didn't want shortly after the end of Bush's second term. During this whole time the lower tax rates were in effect for the top 1%...so, how did that help him again?

I can't put down how I feel about Cantor. He is a circus tent revivalist politician. In it for himself and no one else. If what he says gains him power, then he says that. And that is about the end of the polite stuff.

REALITY: It's actually a real THING!

Yes yes, and the Republican majority has done such a swell job at focusing on Jobs, Jobs, Jobs haven't they?

Why they just worked and worked and worked on creating jobs - and by that I mean eliminating women's reproductive rights - it was all they could think about...one bill after another.

Eric Cantor is one of the worst of the worst. For him to be sitting in front of any microphone and proclaiming that he cares about creating so much as a single solitary job would almost be laughable if it wasn't so hypocritically gag worthy! Puh-lease.... The baggers HAVE to go. They have to ... 2014, out with the rest of them, buh-bye!!!

Eric, do you think that this man needs you to better serve the wealthy? Is that the point, you can put him back to work building for the rich when they have more money to build second and third mansions? Or was he asking you to STOP blocking the attempts to solve the problems with your partisan agenda?

I went to college and lived in Missoula for many years. Missoula is the most liberal city in Montana. Cantor had to dig deep to find a Fox blinded conservative there. Most Missoulians know that the trickle down theory only benefits the wealthy.

so where did all the "good jobs" go????

simple...

"belt tightening" "downsizing" "consolidation" "deregulation" during ""hard times" worked---for the corporations.

end result:

companies are showing record profits with FEWER people doing MORE work for LESS money...

thank you mr bush jr.

Cantor uses a "story" that in no way represents America's economic problem. "We need more jobs" isn't going to happen until the public feels confident that its government is doing the right thing, which was demonstrated by this election. Stonewalling by neocons/repubs is going to make it even worse in the 2014 mid-elections and worse for America.

I like the idea of "No budget solutions = No Congressional pay". Do your job and you get your check.

Good point. Those in government whose careers are tax funded, denounce government assistance while chearleading private enterprise and acting as proxys for corporate heads cannot for their lives see the irony in this.

Rescind the tax cuts for the rich. If it doesn't help, it certainly won't hurt; and after more-than a decade, it's worth a shot.
