Yes! And the economy is suppose to be bad and people are out of work and poor to. Get real.
They in Congress w/seeing all these shoppers stuffing their bags should go ahead then and
Raise all our Taxes, because we're filthy rich and do not even know it,but we can certainly
stuff our bags full of much un-needed items. Then people complain about the Rich?
America's Middle Name is "GREED!" for All Amercians. Pathetic..............

The CEO's want to keep all of their entitlements and take away our paid in money for Social Security and Medicare. This should have been a boycott year people, so don't complain when you see all the high profits made by these companies. Grandma will have to live with you because they take away her paid in all her life Social Security check.

Record sales, huh---so the "economy" IS nothing more than a politically motivated 'hoax' and the private sector IS alive and doing just fine.

Here's a little shopping tip for you -

Don't place your order online. Do your shopping, then call the order in and ask if you can get free shipping. They always give it to you.

The same communist companies own the online stores that own the box stores. Putting lip stick on a communist is still a communist.

It is just about impossible to buy USA for everything, and if you do buy USA the cost would limit the number of items. China will buy USA heavy equipment and the like.

You can bet with these sales figures the gov'ment will decide it's high time they get their share. Here comes the Internet tax bite. I wonder where all the environmentalists will be when those who shop the Internet start talking of the carbon footprint they're reducing by not driving to every place they shop?

One of my most used sayings, unfortunately. Here's another one, "Been down so long, it looks like up to me."

Beware of all the talk of how great the post-Thanksgiving sales have been. All the comparisons are with year-ago levels, and a year ago, sales were not being pulled into Thanksgiving day as they were this time around, so these are not apple-to-apples benchmarks.

It doesn't matter how much crap everybody buys. It will never help the American economy, period, unless these giant corporations pull there profits (trillions by the way) out of offshore tax havens, pay America the taxes they owe (most pay no taxes at all) bring the money back into the country where it was made and reinvest it here.
08:16 PM on 11/26/2012
What? Have giant corporations (and their lobbyist co-horts play fair) ignore their profits and the h... with the goood of the country? Besides many if, not most corporations & politicians are owned by fireign countries.

Finished all of my holiday shopping already and did everybit of it online this year...no fighting for parking, no long lines, no walking until you drop, got sales with discount promotions sent to me and saved money. All will be delivered to my door and so far everything came quickly and arrived undamaged and in good shape...Couldn't be happier...may be the only way to go in the future.

Normally this would be taken as a good sign. It can also mean people have have less money to spend and are looking for bargains.

Americans are always looking for bargains. We are buying cheaper and cheaper crap in greater and greater quantities every year.

I think people are beginning to realize that cheaper products from China are, in the long run, more expensive--the number of times you have to replace them vis-a-vis American made products.
