Gee, I just love how Steven makes the Right look stupid with his fake conservatism. He is brilliant and like the Comedian/Senator from Min. will astonish everyone with his hard work and intelligence. I don't see any comparison with Jim.

South Carolina would have a senator that admits to being a comedian, not one who merely acts like one.

Conservative ideology: the biggest joke, but it makes nobody laugh. Or at least, makes nobody who actually pays taxes laugh.

Steven makes conservatives look funny. We need more of that in the Senate. McConnell managed to make himself look silly yesterday.
05:12 PM on 12/07/2012
Maybe if the Senate was full of comedians, they might actually get something done. At the very least, they'd be entertaining.

I'm not sure that SC could handle someone that actually has been known to have an intelligent thought. It would be just too much for those folks to handle.

Please. I'm tired of people making generalizations about us that make them seem superior. I don't get how discrimination and stereotyping is ok with any racial and ethnic group but apparently, it's perfectly fine to call South Carolinians stupid southerners.

McConnell and Boehner are definitely evil clowns. At least Colbert would tell the people the truth.
02:38 PM on 12/07/2012
He is an obvious choice! Stephen would never, ever let South Carolina down. They have had such an illustrious political history and he would love to carry on their traditions, only he would be making people laugh on purpose.

That is all we need in Washington DC is another Hollywood Star trying to run the country., We got one in the White House and that's enough to destroy this country.

We certainly do not want Nikki Haley. She is a Sikh, who conveniently converted to
being a Methodist. You are what your parents are. No conversions.
She needs to return to Sikhland and wear a towel around her head.
How in God's name, did she ever get elected. She may have been born here but
she is no Methodist.
I am a Methodist and we do not let people convert to our religion just for purposes of
being accepted as an American.
I have nothing against Sikh's but I suspect most South Carolinians do- if they knew
what her real heritage was.

If you can only ever be the religion that your parents are then there would be no Christianity. Jesus was born a Jew, as were his early followers. Paul converted on the road to Damascus. Christianity is built around conversion; and as a good Christian you should be welcoming to people who receive the gospel. Or do you think of Christianity as some kind of exclusive club that only you and your friends get to be a part of?

And btw, women Sikhs do not wear "towels" around their heads. When someone feels the need to claim that they have nothing against a group of people, it's almost always because they actually do.

He's an American citizen who is also a political satarist and author (better than a journalist). He makes it his business to know what is going on in our world, almost like a watchdog. Hey, guys, did you this was going on? Then we say, No, thanks for enlightening us when our own government wants to keep everything a secret. Wouldn't that be wonderful in a representative? Finally someone who cares.
