This will go down as the phoniest speech ever given in American history. Palin doesn't even have the decency to use the word 'resign' anywhere in this mendacious mumbo-jumbo.

"Hi. I'm Sarah Palin, and because I'm quitting as governor, it makes me more qualified to take on a higher calling and, by the way, while I'm at it, I'm just going to go ahead and hijack the word 'progressive.'

"Hi. I'm Sarah Palin. I really feel that the media microscope just comes with the territory and that you have to work past that and forge ahead." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nC-tOzXQOsk

I say let her walk off into obscurity. She played her role in American politics, now even she knows it is over for her. As far as the whole ethics investigation, it aint over. Immediately after her resig. speech, she probably got a call from "Fix News" for a political talk show. HOw is Huckabee's show doing on Fix News?

Don't forget the conservative radio talk show offers she's undoubtedly received.

Thank god she is not vice president and I pray to god she never becomes president.

What's truly amazing to me about this speech is that, in the midst of all the horrifically bad grammar, alternative punctuation and politico-babble, she somehow managed to use the word "effect" (verb form) properly! I guess the old saying is true - even a blind squirrel finds an acorn once in a while....

Incredible. This woman gives me a headache when she speaks because her metaphors and sentences are so unorganized and thrown together as to be a virtual assault on the English language.

After her performance in the past election, I find it hard to believe that anyone would support her for any kind of governmental position. If my candidate had given those responses to press questions and debate questions during the campaign, I wouldn't have voted for him at all. She had multiple opportunities to show her grasp of the political situation and to show that she understood the intricacies and sophistication that the position demands, and she failed miserably nearly every single time. I could not, in good conscience, vote for anyone, democrat or republican, who turned in a showing like that.

Frankly, I think this is her swan song. At least, I hope it is. Not because I'm afraid that she would motivate those of a conservative view to bring out more votes in the future, but because to run for national public office after the past election and this speech would be simply embarrassing.

To paraphrase:

"Because I consider myself the star of the team and I'm doing so well at a job I love and have done so well, I'm going to quit because it's best for the Alaska and for the country and the guy who's taking over is going to take the basketball while I keep my eyes on the basket so I can do more for politics by quitting a job I love and not being involved in politics, and also, people have been saying bad things about my son, Trig, and we need more Trigs, and my kids helped me make this decision, one of them said, "hell yeah," and so this is what I'm going to do and these are my reasons and family is important, but other things are important, too, and we have energy independence and national security because of the great state of Alaska and the job I've done and I just want to say that this is the right decision for the country and this will allow me to do more stuff for the country, though I won't be in politics, maybe, and don't worry, there will be a barbeque, so I will be here for two more weeks, and thank you for allowing me this opportunity to quit a job that I love because there is so much to do outside of politics regarding politics, and with that said, I'm going to hand you over to this other guy."

She said, "I've given you my reasons," but I'm left saying, "What the heck did she say?"

If she's thinking of running for POTUS, she'd better think again. We don't need a quitter in the White House.

Listening to Sarah speak, this was not the overconfident, snide, name calling, terriorist invoking, socialist blasting candidate from 2008. She rambled, her voice was high-pitched, she seemed nervous and her speech was unorganized. Whazz-up Sarah?
