If we are going to force a tale on our Kids, it should be the little Red Hen. The Moral of the story might save our society.

Anyone interested in the "meaning" of Fairy Tales might like reading "The Uses of Enchantment" by Bruno Bettelheim. Although I do understand that the author had some professional issues, that doesn't seem to detract (in my opinion) from the ideas presented in the book.

Quite right, he blamed autism on "cold refrigerator mothers." But I would still check out his book on enchantment, since you recommend it with a "Jung" moniker. ;)

"Fabulous..a real surprise..'Tallow Candle' tale by Hans Christian Andersen will earmark another new great story telling booklet that will surely be told to primary grades and nursery toddlers..generations to another generations..its just sad to know that the author is no longer with us, but his legacy will forever remain in our hearts and to our children's fantasies and imaginations.."

With all of the less than stellar finds that get touted.....composers third rate works which were never published, broken down tombs in Egypt etc. This truly is an important find.
