Education should be free

Gambling on Wall Street and shuffling papers for profit at Banks should cost

Profiting off the weak and downtrodden is immoral

To the moderators: what's wrong with this:
Our Prez still has 3 full years to cope with the economic situation. People who write him off after only 8 months are Rush-style: hope he fails ..just to prove the Dems wrong/
Y'know what? My prediction: the Dems are going to maintain the majority in Congress and Senate, and have a President for the next 2 elections at least.
In the near future, we're gonna have a strong third Party!

To a Moderator

Why oh why did you scrub that post?
First it's there and then it's toast.
When PC becomes the norm,
How can a proper forum form?
I must conclude, regretfully,
That you and I will not agree
But please, for once man, show some spine
And allow an idea diverse from thine.

Here is why he says pin it on me:
All three are now flashing green. According to Achuthan, the long-leading index growth rate has been recovering since November 2008, the weekly leading index has been recovering since last December, and the short-leading index growth rate bottomed in February 2009. In sequence, each turned up, "and by April the three Ps had all been satisfied."

Note that the third index was bottomed out in Feb 2009 before the Recovery Money hit the streets. It was not the great plan of the Democrats but again our free markets and the help of TARP.

In other words... when everything stinks... It's Obama's fault, and when things get better, its free market and he had nothing to do with it.

yeah... sure... we get it. EXACTLY the canned response the right has been planning to use as the economy begins the long journey back from the depths of 30 years of 'free market' trickle down.

Yes, I hope you and the others have enjoyed your rants the past few months... these conditions should last for at least another quarter then, as you note, the economy will rebound. You may also note that this is when the stim money will start to hit... all at the start of 2010 election cycle.

Thankfully, the GOP has been busy working developing its priorities, grooming it candidates, and demonstrating to the public that it has innovative, new ideas to counter the president.... BWAA-HA-HA-HA!!!

And then you get to experience what we did in 1982: the completion of a seismic shift in the electorate behind the president.

The Obama administration has largely shelved, for now, its plan to finance the purchase of banks’ toxic assets, ostensibly because of the banks’ recent success in raising capital. An alternative explanation is that the banks won’t sell. Recent accounting changes (m2m) make it less painful for them to keep bad assets on their books. Why admit to losses if you don’t have to?

Our largest stumbling block to any reform or recovery is ourselves. The masses of people! IMAGINE~~~~~~~~~~ if we could all agree for a common cause, have a common thread and get along. Agree to dissagree but unite for the same cause. Unite for reform, unite for a fair and level playing field. Unite for a future for ourselves and the next generations to come. Unite for accountability in Government, to have Congress actually represent the people rather than their interests of being career politicians, their hunger for the millions thrown at them every time they turn around. If we could unite to end lobbying as it is, to be a voice heard as one. Unite for what we once thought was the American dream; jobs, prosperity, to live free with out the constant threats of violating your civil rights. To be free of the banksters, the insurance companies all taking every last cent.

IMAGINE what we could do if we stood united as one. To take back control of government, to push away those working against us. To seek out those corruptors and push them away, give them no voice, no power to be equal. To be heard, seen and mean what we say.

IMAGINE~~~~~~~~~~~~~can we?

I'm all for unity and cooperation... It's just that there are two opposing views on how to fix the economy. One involves government intervention and increased spending to stimulate the economy, and the other condemns the same actions. They both seem to work on paper, but always seem to have side effects when carried out. The problem seems to be that it is so hard to find the right balance. I think that might also be the big reason for a lack of unity, because people have different solutions to the same problem, and can't agree on what works, (which no one really knows for sure what works)

03:22 AM on 07/15/2009
It hasn't been 5 months yet. Not calling any names but someone had 8 years to run over the economy, back up and run over it again. Not to mention the middle class, personal freedoms and the right to privacy. Yet after the first four you gave out 4 more.

"We gave it to you on January 20th, 2009, you ##$!@&." Sounds like you are revealing more about yourself...... wonder what "##$!@&" is........like we don't know. Sad, so sad, so many absolutely clueless.....in the end, it doesn't matter.

Yeah keep on the course............................................

"Fix housing" seems to mean I paid too much couldn't you re-inflate the market for me.
"Fix the banks" means please re-leverage the banks back to their bubble days.
"Fix health care" looks like it means please send the insurance companies a check for me.
"Fix unemployment" without a re-tool this basically means raise everyone credit card limit.

And as demonstrated here, 90% of the voting public are quite happy to look for sound bites which reassure them that their party is the smart one. It's going to be very easy to blame Obama because he CAN'T fix it without leveling with all his fans who are in no way prepared to accept reality. He's like a deer in the headlights hoping that at least it won't fall off a cliff before he can hide the bad paper.
02:06 AM on 07/15/2009
Good post. Few people have picked up on this. With regards to housing and banks, this administration is trying to RE-INFLATE the bubble. And surprise! the MSM still has its collective head in the sand. We are about to enter a lost decade - buckle up!

Exactly right. Just as the housing bubble was aggressively fed by Greenspan's attempts to re-inflate the previous stock market bubble, so too will the next bubble be fed by our current actions.

There are two iron truths about bubbles: 1) we will never learn from them, and 2) they always burst.

Well, I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm tired. Schooling these stubborn trolls is hard work. They're so easily confused by facts and logic, they just reject them outright.

Oh well... Maybe I can get paid to be an instructor at one of those re-education camps Michelle Bachman keeps talking about?

Godwin's law applies when you are talking about Obama and Democrats. However, extensive documentation reveals that the exception to Godwin's law is found in the Bush administration.

wow....very nice. i believe all this actually boils down to excess of testosterone, especially as most fascist regimes and dictatorships are male dominated. The need to survive or propagate one's kind is still instilled in pretty much everyone, although societies have evolved from what it used to be thousands of years ago. One main way of reducing competition is to show the outside world as something that would contribute towards the deterioration of society. This can be seen in every part of the world as Nazis used it to show superiority of Germans, you could see it in the Taliban and pretty much every radical groups around the world. As males face more competition shielding the outside world reduces competition and gives you a chance of finding a suitable mate. The leaders of the fascist regimes are usually very smart and are experts at manipulating people and do understand that it is easy to sell the idea of superiority to people who are uneducated but as people get more educated they will start to question the authorities which causes a big problem, this can be seen among the Taliban as they try to destroy education among women and also try to shield the people from outside world and education.

You know why America is in so much debt.. The United States of America has a history of buying it's friends. And promising money which they pay in War.. that's right instead of giving hard cold cash they send their army in to the point that America has 700 bases in 150 countries.. And no one is saying thank you... People do not like strangers with guns occupying their country. So now America is also known for not paying it's debts.. You are loosing your friends cause when you buy friends cold hard cash is the way to go... So while your government is spending your hard cold cash insulting the world, your taxes go up, your poor are getting poorer, your rich are crying for more breaks.. that is how they won support to begin with, buying off the rich.. Obama should save the tax payers money and get all those troops to come home. War is no longer profitable, and the world is not accepting an army base as payment ...
