The snakes were safely flushed in a backwards-spinning toilet, and will surely never be seen again.

In unrelated news, a wave of giant mutant crocodiles is invading Sydney. More news at 11,

I am a little confused at how a 3 yr old was able to do all this and the mother never knew until she found them in the closet? My 3 yr old granddaughter is never out of my sight...I know everything she is doing at all times.

A 3 year old is able to venture out on his 3 acre property on his own pick up a clutch of eggs has the ability to find and enclose the eggs in a plastic container and bring it to his bedroom all without showing his mom or dad? kids don't do that the first thing they want to do is show their mom what they found

Society wasn't always as 'insulated' as it is today. When I was a kid (in the 60's), we would disappear into the woods for an entire day, and our parents never worried. We also rode bikes without helmets, and played with lawn darts. We are all still here.

This is a 3 year old though.

I did the same thing growing up. Come back at dinner time covered with mud and a bent rim on my bike. We went all over the place.

Didn't this kind have parents? Where the hell were they? What could they have been thinking of to allow a 3 year old to possess eggs of an unknown species?

You forgot about the Fierce snake...the worlds deadliest, and then the Tiapan then the brown.
In any case, why did mom not notice that they were NOT chicken eggs...they are leathery and soft...
12:18 PM on 12/22/2012
i dont think the mom knew about them until she found them hatched

The Inland Taipan, also known as the Small Scaled Snake and Fierce Snake, is native to Australia and is regarded as the most venomous land snake in the world based on LD50 values in mice. It is a species of taipan belonging to the Elapidae family
