What a great feel good story, and perfect for the holidays. Given all the negative news out there this is refreshing.

I had something similar happen to me....I kept having people come up and talk to me but using someone else's name. Everyone said this other woman and I could be twins. So after some hard grilling of my poor parents, I found out we were not twins. It's kind of creepy knowing someone looks so much like me and has no familial ties.

were that to happen to me, i would certainly try to find out from these 'people' who call you another name who they think you are, & contact the girl/woman. who knows if the mom OR dad had another child that they never told their partner prior to or during their marriage. it's not improbable.

My son & daughter-in-law have 2 sets of twins. A boy/girl set that's 7 yrs old & girls that were 5 on the 20th of this month. I can't even imagine them being seperated from each other. It's wonderful that these girls found each other.

I'm glad they're finally taking some of the junk off tv. We had just too many cop/detective shows too. OUAT isn't so very bad if you can keep up with it each week. If you miss an episode you can be lost. Also the way it bounces back and forth from the past to the present and back again confuses some people (but not me) that they lose patience with it. I always liked fairy tales but when you share a home with someone you tend to watch what both people like. I'm a little excited about some of the new shows that are slated though even if they are only shown once.

I think it's so sad these twins were separated. It's cruel. I would have taken both of those babies without a second's thought. I'm glad they found each other while they're still young and alive so they can get to know one another. I wished for twins but wasn't that lucky.

I believe the adoption Mother said she was not given the opportunity to adopt both girls. How beautiful it was for 2 families to have the opportunity to get even just 1 lovely child to raise. Now they have met and its wonderful for them. Gods will? Who knows.

Yes, it's too bad because she probably would have taken both of them. They really should have told her the baby was one of a pair. Some agencies didn't have enough heart back then. Or somebody didn't that's for sure.

They may have met because of genetics. Identical twins are oftentimes found at the same kinds of jobs, etc. even if they have never met. The fact that they went to schools so close together, isn't entirely surprising.

please read the article again the mother said she wanted to take both of the girls but they wouldn't let her. It was the state that was cruel

Because its easier to get people to adopt one person than twins. Its not something evil they did, sure they look the same, but they are TWO different people. Its not like twins need the other to function.

Identical twins oftentimes have a kind of relationship that other people don't. They are two different people, but they are two different people who are remarkably similar to each other. Not just in terms of appearance, but in terms of personality, etc. They're usually closer than typical siblings and it is cruel to rob them of that special kind of relationship.

identical twins are one fertilized egg that split into two= one person--identical

That's really a cool story. How fun and exciting for all involved!!!! I wonder if they have thought about contacting the birth parents?

There were a set of twins at my son's grade school. I did know it for a long while as I never saw them together. I just thought I saw the same kid an awful lot for just one person. It was a few years later I finally saw the twins together and realized what I had been doing.
