Gee, so the pedestrian that refuses to look both ways while talking or texting on their cell phone should be protected from a "green" car at low speeds? Maybe we should just add baseball cards to the spokes like we did when I was a kid. Of course the cards would be made with recycled paper. Can you make a cellphone from recycled parts? Come on!

I always felt that pedestrians should have to yield to cars for the very same reason. Cars seem to weigh a bit more, are faster, and usually bad for a person's health when they strike you. Which is why I always look both ways too.

Roll down the window, crank up the gangster rap. For added effect, ensure you are disturbing as many people as possible.

They should have the option to record your own sound. I bet a lot of screaming, growling, laughing, or gibberish sounding cars speeding toward you would scare you enough to look both ways before walking into busy traffic.

If youre too damn stupid to look both ways and KEEP looking both ways as you cross, you need to be taken out. Laws should be made to protect the innocent, NOT THE STUPID.

The driver can select from "Batman", "La Cucaracha", "Wicked Witch Theme", or "Call Me Maybe" for their low speed noise.

Makes sense. People do rely a lot on hearing to assess their surroundings.

Who cares, it's just Darwin cleaning the inattentive gene from the gene pool.

When I was a kid, in the 1940s, there was a little old lady in my home town who drove a Franklin Electric car. Even them it was a museum piece. And it was totally noiseless - and dangerous for pedestrians, even though she didn't drive very fast. Being hit by a car going 15 miles an hour is a lot different than being hit by a bicycle. A little noise will prevent some serious injuries.

But that would take all the fun of driving up behind someone immersed in their cellphone conversation in the middle of the parking lot & blasting the horn. I'd need a new form of entertainment.

First thing to do to your car is disconnect the noise maker and change the sound to a screaming voice saying get off your phone, watch where you're going stupid.

I wont mind some noise, I just dont to be driving a Harley Motorcycle.
