Vulnerable?

If we don't get a strong public option, we're sending them to K Street where they belong.

Well, their fate is in their own hands so is Republican fate

You betcha! And we better get healthcare reform and not insurance reform. If they mess this up they are toast!

Actually we are toast. Even if they lose they get their pension and health care forever. Even the ones who end up in jail get their pension !

Get rid of them, just like the rest of the narrow minded fools (the Repugs), who believe they represent their constituents, when they fall in line with the wants of corporate America.

It is one thing to help campaign for your candidate , it is another to sit idly by once your vote is cast, and the election is over. The lesson in politics we are learning today is that we must keep a consistent eye on the policies these lawmakers put forth.

We all need to write our representatives and tell them we will not stand having our votes counted only during the election.

Write your Congressmen and Senators. List their campaign contributors and tell them you will not be ignored while they take money from those who are in conflict of YOUR interest.

My senators are for the public option. I've been calling others for 2 months pretending like I am in their state. They don't care. They have been bought by the lobbyists.

The only day the constituents matter is on election day. After that, we are dust. I don't know what else I can do . I write to the White House every day and yell. I mean YELL. I don't think the White House even cares at this point. I think they know their fate .

I have called all of the senators who are a problem several times. They just do not care . I can't make them care.

The funny thing is, if we give money to the DNC or the DSCC or the DCCC, it will go toward keeping these guys in office.

Fuhgeddaboudit. Don't do it.

The Blue dogs don't deserve our support. The Democratic party needs to come up with some better candidates.

There are many progressive organizations that are working toward getting better Democrats in office.

Right they hand picked the blue dogs. Giving them any money is a big mistake.

I don't think the Repubs have a candidate. It is more that people will feel discouraged and simply not vote. It will be as it always is .. turn out that wins or loses. Good luck motivating progressives to show up again .

Let us put the Blue Dogs on notice. Vote against the public option that will be favorable to us or BE VOTED OUT OF OFFICE 2010. No questions asked. Period.

I just wish Obama would veto the bill if it doesn't have a public option. I don't want these co-ops they agreed to. At least prove that he stands for something ! I'd rather have nothing than the Senate Finance Bill.

Truthfully this health system is so messed up adding anything to it is probably a disaster. They really need to blow it up and start from scratch . Single Payer.. it's the cheapest and less wacky to run. One set of forms, one payment plan for doctors, one computer system. blah blah blah . oh well that will never happen.
12:39 AM on 07/30/2009
He's said he would veto it. But I and many, many others will hold the Blue Dogs accountable for that veto.

I'm with you. If these useless congressmen prevent serious and public health care reform, I will donate generously to whomever has the spine to run these people out of Washington.

These ConservaDems deserve to lose if their money-bought, illogical opposition to health care reform leads to its demise or a meaningless watered down plan.

It is a pretty sad state of affairs. I have never gotten involved in a political campaign before but I really invested and believed in Obama. Now I watch everything we worked for go up in smoke.

I'll never do it again. Work that hard or believe in anyone like I did. I really feel I have been played for a fool.

IF I thought they could be replaced by progressives I might feel the same. But given many of them come from very conservative Republican districts.. if they lose a Republican will probably win, not that it makes any real difference. A Blue Dog is a Republican when you get down to it .

Don't be discouraged.
Here in the midwest, we drove across state lines to conservative districts, and we'll do it again.
We know how to get the progressives we need in 2010. If we win Texas in 2012, don't be surprised.

Congressional Democrats might have thought they were going to have the same free ride that Republicans had when they were in the majority.

The Republican base is obedient, ignorant and submissive. The Democratic base, on the other hand is awake, intelligent and pissed off. They have an agenda and want the Democratic Congress to pass it.

The Republican party expects loyalty from its base. The Democratic base expects loyalty from its party.

Very good point and congress never wrote a bill. it was all upto the lobbyist. Now they have to think through with a president who demands real solutions from the bills! what is the world coming to? Dont they miss the good ol' days when Dick Cheney crafted a war, and went on with it, Wall Street ran amok all without anyone demanding any thoughtful input from congress.

What are they to make of a bill that will actually be implemented and assessed for its worthiness by ordinary people?
12:48 AM on 07/30/2009

it's time we "k- -K a--" and take names; these fools are supposed to represent us, the people; not some damn insurance company, ala Boren; let's storm their behinds out of the country, NOW!

We don't need a "Two Party System" . . . we have the Democratic Party . . .

These Blue Dogs should actually be called Yellow Chickens" . . unwilling to back the Party that was ELECTED to CHANGE the key wrap we have been dealing with under the Republican decimation of America.

Yes they are typical republicans. They have a script and do not waiver or weave. It gets the job done tho..cause the ones who can't think independently buy the lies. The democrats get in trouble because they are diverse and allow self think. And that is a dilemma. If you hear one obstructionist interviewed in the morning (or blue dog), you know that THAT is what you will hear all day long.
