Such a beautiful gown on such a beautiful young lady that has so much talent. I think her hair is lovely and actually, with Gabby's face any type of hair would look fantastic. I am so proud of this young lady.

Don't care what she has on or how her hair looks, I am very proud of this young lady. For her to have accomplished so much at a young age, she sure has a lot of haters. She's a child and you adults need to watch your comments.

This look is not for her. Her natural beauty would have been all she needed.

Stop the world, I want to get off!

I agree. They harped on her hair so bad now she's doing the weave thing. All she needed was a good trim and some moisturizer. Her regular hair would have been fine.

Even though her hair is beautiful... I thought she looked just as pretty before. Shame on the people that got on her about her hair. African Americans preach they need to stick together but then get on this young woman about her hair. Crying out loud, its just horrible!

She is naturally beautiful. She should not have fixed what wasn't broken. Be yourself, don't try to grow up to quick, stay your youthful self before time takes it away and you wish you had it back!!

When she stepped onto that "red carpet" she became fair game or target for criticism. That's just the way it is. Nobody gets spared. She's made up to looked much older than she really is. Why can't she just be herself?

That is a wig.

Surely a stylist didn't recommend that wig. That wig is not suitable for her head; it's way too big and I can't imagine who would recommend it for her????
10:19 PM on 01/14/2013
smh... your just as bad as the people who got on her about her natural hair.

I blamed the media for making headline news out of a few negative tweets about her hair,
on a day when she made Olympic history.

Today I say
Let the 16 year old be 16 years old and experiment with different.

Personally I think a shorter look would work better for her.

I do not feel this style but her dress is pretty.

Gabby was great with her natural self! I find it sad that she has given into the fake crap that so many Black women have chosen!

I wish the world would leave Gabby's hair alone. Can she just live out here? She brought home multiple Gold medals and how do we repay her. Talking about her hair. Typical Americans.

Peace Be Still

Gabby appears "pleased" with her look..however, she needs to be encouraged to love her "nubian" self.

God was not mistaken, she is made perfect in everyway. Had she worn her own close cropped hair, she may have been mistaken as being a "radical", therefore...she appears to be happy and is in discovery of herself....I cannot wait for her look at 21..

Peace!

Her real hair is not short. That is why the wig does not quite fit. It had to be big enough to cover her real hair and that is what made it look too overpowering.
