Congrats AP ! After that injury he suffered last year, I wasn't sure if Peterson would come back the form he displayed before the injury but in some ways he seemed almost better than before and is deserving of the MVP award !

Peterson was a beast, coming off knee surgery and almost breaking the record for most yards in a season, that was something special.

But I must say if Peterson gets accused of the whole steroid thing that's going around this year, like Ray Lewis, it would be very upsetting.

Tom Brady was never accused of it and his injury was much worse! Why bring the PED thing into this?

Tom may never have done anything but the Patriots as an organization are shady...remember spygate.

Antler Spray is a Steroid how again Doctor?

And why would you even hint at Peterson being tied to performance enhancing drugs if you don't have any proof? That is the height of irresponsibility.

I believe he may be an hgh user. I think its widely used. Why else is the nflpa balking at testing? If they test this could be like mlb all over again. Too many football players are super human.

Let's not argue samantics, steroitds or not it's a PED, and with everyone being accused nowadays I wouldn't be surprised if AP is involved, although it would be very sad because he is one of my favorite players. But right now eveything is good, he had a great season in a passing league, not sure if we will see anything close to this level of performance in a while.

His accomplishment this season was too mind boggling to ignore. First, the #'s. Just 9 yards from the all time rushing record. That's enough in and of itself. Second, the fact that he carried that entire team on his back. He was the offense. AP left, AP right, AP up the middle and AP in the end zone. That was it for the Vikings. And he carried them to the playoffs. Finally, in the history of the sport have we EVER seen an athlete suffer a devestating injury (multiple knee ligament tears) during a season, only to make it back full force by Game #1 the next season. Un heard of! Unprecedented! Only a supreme being like AP could do it.

This was as close to a no brainer as we've seen. And this is even considering the fact that the runner up (Peyton) would have been a clear run away winner any other year. That's how AMAZING Adrian Peterson was in 2012. We may never see anything like it again...unless AP decides to do one better!

Perhaps you forgot about harvin. He had the most all purpose yards before getting injured. Also all day wasn't 100 percent til game six.

I LOVE Percy Harvin. He's tough as nails. A true all purpose receiver. Been following him since high school. But you're undervaluing AP, which is surprising as it appears you're a Viking fan. AP performed at a higher level on a knee and a half in the first 6 games than Percy did on 2 knees. Let's take a look. Adrian Peterson (83 yds/game rushing; 4.47/carry; 20 yds/game receiving and 1 TD; Total yds per game average:103). Percy Harvin (10.5 yds/game rushing; 4.2/carry; 90 yds/game receiving and 2 TD's; Total yds per game average:100.5). No slight on Percy. Again, I'd love to see him in a Fins uniform. I'd trade 2 guys and a draft pick for him. But AP carried that team from day #1. If not with overwhelming stats the first 6 weeks, at least with stats that were enough to lead his teamates to believe something special was going on, and hence, believe in themselves and the team. Percy wasn't doing that for them. I'm curious... you happy with Christian Ponder? Or do you think you need an upgrade to take it to the next level?

Imagine what he would have done if he would have been 100% all season? Some of his teammates said he wasn't 100% all year.

Figured Peterson would win the comeback award and Peyton Manning would win Offensive Player of the year. Not the other way around.

Peterson missed 1 Game, Peyton missed an entire season, so I think Peyton is the come back player of the year easily

Where is the article about the 49er's player having to go to indoctrination for anti-gay comments Apparently free speech goes only so far. Funny HP does not lead with that

Ok, let's get this straight here. He said it, while in the employment & representing of the Niners at a news conference - the week previous to their participation in the SB. It is NOT free speech, when comments from an employee while representing their company, can negatively effect the company and said company reprimands them! The niners have a right to speak with Culliver about those comments. In the instance, he made his comments while on vacation or during the off-season, then that is an example of free speech! For crying out loud, what is it, that people who like to quote the Constitution, haven't a clue as to how they're applied!

"Peterson received 30 1-2 votes from a nationwide panel of 50 media members who regularly cover the NFL. Manning got the other 19 1-2 votes."

30+19=50????
12:35 AM on 02/03/2013
Uh. you must be from the MN 6th - 30.5 + 19.5 = 50. Did you miss the 1/2 votes for each? Congrats to AP and a shout out to Chris Carter finally getting into the HOF - he was kept out far too long - talk about old grudges from when he played in Philly.
