Oh. I thought she drank the detergent on purpose, to wash the taste of McDonald's "food" out of her mouth.

Okay, where's the damn ice?

It's better to drink the detergent first, then you don't have to taste the McDonalds food to begin with.

Atleast she is super clean on the inside!

Something similar happened to me at Marie Callendars, but I was smart enough to spit it out rather than swallow it. Ordered a soup/salad combo and apparently something chemical got spilled into the soup that day. Took one bite and immediately knew it wasn't right. Brought it up to management and they were super apologetic and comped our entire meal. I spent the rest of the day with a "coppery" taste in my mouth and couldn't smell a thing for about a week. I'll never go back...

I've never seen a detergent that looked like or smelled like Coke. Stupid is as stupid does.

If the liquid was in an enclosed cup and the person took a big gulp, they could have easily swallow the chemical before realizing what it was. This has nothing to do with intelligence.

Yes. Yes it does.

They should be more concerned about the future health problems caused by the food at McD's than anything else.
05:43 PM on 02/06/2013
Ok, if you can't tell the difference immediately between a mouthful of coke and a mouthful of detergent and then proceed to drink the whole thing, you deserve to die regardless..

So in China, detergent tastes exactly like coke?
06:11 PM on 02/06/2013
Maybe it only took one sip to make her sick? Drinking from a straw could make it hard to taste your drink, really...

It would not have had a straw in it.
05:19 PM on 02/06/2013
Interesting... How could someone swallowed detergent? Unless that detergent taste like coke hehe

Maybe it was watered down and she has never drank soda before. It's possible she was just being very polite and was reluctant to tell anyone how bad it tasted.
05:40 PM on 02/06/2013
Good thing it wasn't  acid or something more potent.
05:12 PM on 02/06/2013
If someone wants to drink detergent why should I care?

That's what the headline made me think.

After complaining of a burning sensation in her esophagus and stomach.

Seriously the taste didn't tip her off?
I mean I cannot believe she swallowed it!
I would have spewed it all over the room.

i remember i Tw, I drank some bottled water on the bus. Afterwards, had a bad stomach.

Then I clearly noticed that the bus drivers were using those bottles of water to cool off the engines.

Where is personal responsibility!!

Even people in Cn do things without much thought.

Like [in the USA], sticking coffee between your legs when driving.
05:23 PM on 02/06/2013
The story you are talking about was actually McDonalds fault. That particular store had their coffee too hot to keep from overbrewing. When the lady put the cup down to get her order the cup fell apart in her lap. The coffee melted the cup and she only wanted McDonalds to pay for her healthcare, which was thousands of dollars for reconstructive surgery.

And it was not the first time that Micky D's had been sued for this issue. This was why the judge in the case awarded the woman you're referring to the rather large settlement that she won.

Hmmmm ... sniff, sniff ... Ughhh, what's that odor I detect: faint but distinctive, even unmistakeable? It can only one thing, yes, it's ...LAWSUIT!
