GOP=party, profits and guns before country !
06:39 AM on 02/07/2013
I live in south Florida.............and, as reported in the Miami Herald over the years...Rubio's financial "problems" outlined there will finish him as a serious POTUS candidate! The recent sale of his home at a big profit when the other homes in his neighborhood have not increased in value..........is just one financial fishy story!

Rubio is finished as a front-line pol for POTUS in the GOP! First............his immigration reform ideas are DEM ideas, not GOP ideas........................and, IMO, the Red State "Takers" will never approve of a person named "Rubio" as their candidate! All the rest of this is meaningless fodder!!

The only remix for the GOP is realization, compromise, inclusion and compassion. Mix these ingredients and the GOP can be just fine.

Which of course they'll try to appear they're doing but in reality will be sticking to the same backward BS they've become addicted to. If ever there was a case of "don't hold your breath," or "when pigs fly," this is it.

Marco Rubio is a Florida phenomenon. It is doubtful his act will play anywhere else with the possible exception of Texas, and even that has perils.

Much as I would like to see a Latino have a national base, his politics will have to have a hard right posture to play in the red states, a proven loser in the battle ground states and forget him in the blue.

He might get a VP nod to a hard right angry white guy. Much PAC money and negative ads will go into preparing another Romney stealth candidate to take the Republican nomination to put him on the ticket behind a media savvy, smoother Republican mouse trap.

Until the Republican field a moderate candidate they are doomed to go the way of 2012.

Nothing and no one is going to "remix" the Republican Party. Conservative, remember. Set in their ways. Just research across the nation and check what the GOP is trying to do on the state level. This is window dressing. Re-packaging the cereal box, nothing more.

The Republican Party doesn't need to be "re-mixed" -- it needs a moral housecleaning,

and Little Senator Rubio cannot provide what he himself does not have.

Rubio is liberal dem's darling. What he really is is toast. Now lets move on to a real conservative shall we. He is merely window dressing. Please take your former darling McCain with you.

Yes, I agree. The Republicans need to double down, no, triple down on their wingnut ideology.

If voters judge it for what it is, the country will benefit.

Good. The voters will judge. 2014: 20 Dem Senators up for re-election: 7 in states won by Romney, some with double digits. GOP 13 and all look safe right now. Off term elections for the last 100 years (or more) the party of the president loses seats. House is safe until 2020. Then 2016 no sitting president. No Dem has ever won following a mulit-term Dem President. Ever. Go with your wing-nuts, whites are dying off, whatever. History is very much against you. DO you know the DEMS had a 40 year lock on the House and pretty much the same thing until Clinton pushed gun control? That is the source of GOP power: red states. So we will of course let voters judge. 2008 was all Dem (even GOP has trouble winning after a 2-term president). 2010 the GOP handed the Dems their heads (off term election). 2012 a push.Over a billion spent and the same outcome. 2014 lets see how that gun control thing works for ya. Now you run against history, wing-nuts, ideologues, far right whatever term you want. Rubio is toast.

He has not spoken a single inspiring word that I have heard. He has not put out one piece of legislation doing anything for anybody.

He has not helped one undocumented person's plight. He has not written one word to help in any way. He is not even seen with anybody you might think would be ethnic of any sort.

Who is liking him? Where are these people? What is he doing for them?

Throw it in. No Dem has ever won after a multi-term Dem president. But that was before you simply bought votes. Guess you will win again unless you run out of money. Got enough spare $$$ to win election? Maybe a 136 week unemployment term. $500/ month food stamps. Everyone qualifies for disability. Otherwise she loses.

"Romney wins in a landslide". Remember that? Always with the predictions from people who cannot EVEN read correctly history, the past, things that have taken place already. Yet, very certain of that which has not taken place yet.

OK. I admit I skipped over most of this article and the song lyrics which mean nothing to me, I developed my antipathy towards Rubio after his family Cuban immigrant story fell apart, but more so after his financial incompetence: "In June of 2012, Rubio was accused of spending $160,000 on a GOP party credit card for personal expenditures. He repaid the Florida GOP for his actual personal expenses in July." How does anyone get away with that? There are people who are charged with fraud over such matters when they spend money that is not theirs. I know he said that he used the card in error at times, but really, how can you do it that many times, especially without someone in the RNC not noticing? That story is bad for him, and it's bad for the RNC.

Republicans are constantly on the hunt for the 'pretty boy' who will be their 'Jack Kennedy'. The problem is that that their picks are always all about image and completely without substance. A party of puppets, not leaders, because even their puppet masters don't trust them.
