This is very strange. In a jar? Usually the ancient Egyptians suspended baby shoes from the rearview mirror of their chariot. It is believed the little shoes served as a token of good luck and might guarantee you would not be bitten by an asp.

they originally had diamonds on them , but were a bit hard on the leather and cut into the soles of the wearer's feet.
