I certainly hope he realizes that the cost of fuel and energy is the leading cause of the poor economy due to the fact that it is sapping too much money from the public for the few that is already so wealthy they are taking our wealth and investing it in other countries thus draining the economy even more. I have said this many times but will say it again, it is far time for our government to get into the oil business giving the oil companies competition and our government the much needed income to once more balance the national budget the republicans undone under Bush. If you recall we did have a well balanced budget back in 2000 before cut taxes and spend republicans stole our government from us.

yes it was balanced by stealing social security funds and putting them into the general fund

follow the lead of N. Dakota and S. Dakota. DIG! We have natural gases in America and we need to harvest. There is nothing wrong with alternative energy but there is a BIG problem with gas that I paid for yesterday at $4.27 a gallon!
12:39 PM on 03/04/2013
You are right about gasoline prices being to high. The manipulation of the unregulated oil derivatives market is adding around two bucks a gallon to the price of gasoline, that's about seven point five billion dollars a year for Koch Industries, one of the largest investors in that market.

Either that or political ineptitude.
Gas was under $2.00 under the Bush administration.

One look at Ernest Moniz and you can just bet higher gas and energy prices in the near future. It's not only $5 a gallon gas (or higher) by this summer it's the closing of about 100 coal fired electric plants in the mid-west and south-east. Electric bills will double by this winter. Thanks America for putting the idoit back in the White House. What about the Kenstone pipe line? Forget it the oil from Canada is going to China. Maybe you can get your gas in China? Maybe a job in China? It's not all bad news.

I am optimistic since he was an under secretary for Clinton back when fuel prices stayed steadily under $1.50 a gallon. Keep in mind that Bush invented high gas prices and if Obama has'nt learned anything else he should now know we cannot go on filling up the big oil coffer and recover the economy.

Gas prices were at $1.62 when Bush left office....only for a three month period did gas actually exceed $3.00 per gallon under Bush....they have been over $3.00 per gallon since 2010.

At the last Copenhagen conference, tackling climate change was the least affordable, and had the worst prospects of all the crises facing the world.

The rock star doesn't want the facts he just loves to run around the country screaming the sky is falling the polluted sky is falling. The day I see a nuclear power plant on every corner I will know he is serious about something.

Well, well, well......isn't THIS analogous for name dropping? However, if he's so qualified, and is beyond the expertise level of an adjunct, exactly what is an accomplishment of his? I'm sure that with all the students in the last decade who have kicked some technological butt.....they could have at least brought some foresight to the mix.
He's in my generation....and in a similar line of work....I don't remember hearing anything monumental about him......and what a doofy lookin dude.....I may be a geek, but I still play and sing and look like a rocker.....Obama, you should leave the selection of experts to expert picker outers......hahahaha.....and the Walmart chick....oh PUHLEEEZE.....they make money off the backs of child slave labor......once again Barry, you're a disgrace to the American people, and a raving hypocrite

Another "go green" nut? How about burning cheaper oil from a Canadian pipeline while the economy recovers instead of oil from the mideast? In the meantime we can continue to both improve fuel economy and feed our families.

Who's side is Obama on?

You have to ask. The man made it clear years ago he wants to destroy this country and he is doing it.

Thank God Obama is finally embracing the Trans Vest Ite community, their contribution to Energy has too long been overlooked...focusing instead on their large hair and sequined gowns.
This is a great moment in American History.
