These two son of a beeyotches both deserve to go straight to prison. The kid didn't deserve this. This is child abuse.

I felt bad sending my little boy to his room for 10 minutes after a bad report from school knowing his consequences will be the worst a spanking, which is rare, but more important is either grounding from playing outside or taking away his Wii for a couple days. He's hoping for a talking and crying the whole 10 minutes like it's life or death.

This should really be tried as an attempted homicide case. This is absolutely disgusting.

What is up with parents locking their kids up in a room, or a basement, or a box for weeks and months on end?

I am not understanding this trend

Seriously, wtf is going on with some parents?? I was just about to write a comment about the fact that EVERY SINGLE WEEK we read about another child who was found to be locked up, abused, neglected, starved…. and the list goes on. How inhumane can a person be? Children are the most precious gift in the world… how could anyone, but especially a biological parent, do something so awful to an innocent child of their own flesh and blood? Yet it happens OVER and OVER again, and the worst part is- these are just the ones who get caught. Why bring a child into this world if you do not intend to show that child the love and care he/she deserves?

That was my first thought as well, when looking at the woman's photo. It could just be bad acne in her case, but a lot of meth addicts have sores like those from picking at their skin during withdrawal.

Well, thank heaven that he was being raised in a traditional one-man/one-woman family.

These people in no way represent all "one man one woman families" stererotype much? let me guess you belong to the "party of tolerence"

Williemo.....guess you belong to the "party of intolerance". That would make you part of the problem, not the solution.

OMG, are you clueless or what? This has nothing to do with whether the family was heterosexual or gay. This has to do with abusing a child for God sake. Wake up.
04:23 AM on 03/22/2013
That is just what I thought. But are you sure they are religious, or are you just guessing by their behavior (I wouldn't blame that...).

It befuddles me how any parent could think this is appropriate treatment for their child--let alone two parents. Yet, we seem to be hearing about these types of cases more and more these days.

If you don't want your children, it's not that hard to relinquish custodial rights to someone who WILL take care of them. But here's an even more novel idea: if you're not willing to be a decent parent (and, as such, put your children's needs before your own), how about just not having kids?!

I can't imagine the therapy this child must now endure. If your own parents treat you this way, how can you trust ANYONE in the world to love and care for you?

Exactly: we're HEARING about them more. Incidents like this were just as common in the past, but we didn't have the Internet and 24/7 news to report them, nor did we have significant laws against in-home child abuse. To say these cases are somehow on the rise simply because the media are reporting them more, is extremely slippery logic.

And this is yet _another_ example of why heterosexual people should not be allowed to raise children.

Please! Think of the children!
