"Among other ideas, Zoroastrianism is the first ever monotheistic religion that emphasizes broad concepts such as the corresponding work of Good and evil in the world, and the connection of humans to nature."

Translation: Zoroastrianism is the last remaining religion that still worships the sun and fire. (not a joke)

I never said they are bad. I simply pointed out that they are sun worshipers.

Zoroastrianism may have been monotheistic in theory but many of it's rituals are similar to the pagan rituals of it's time.

Thank you, Mahshad, for this article. I had the honor of visiting the Chicago-area Zoroastrian darbe mehr last year, and left with an even greater admiration for the tenacity of your people than I had already had. Be well and happy new year!

Dear Mahshad,
What a great article. I wish all the Iranians happy New Year and Nowruz Pirooz. I also wish all of those not celebrating Nowruz, happy Spring. After all this wonderful Persian New Year is the start of the Spring Seasons in most countries.

Nowruz pirouz to all Zoroastrians reading this article. May all those who celebrate the Persian New Year be blessed and have a wonderful 1392.
I'm an agnostic myself, but I do think that ancient traditions are things to be respected and cultivated. They make us more human, and stronger human beings, if cultivated in a way that accepts the pluralism of human traditions.
Thanks for this article, Mahsad Khosraviani.
And may Iran one day be a free country, worthy of its old Zoroastrian and Muslim traditions.

I am not agnostic, but agree with your comment. I feel mankind would be greatly diminished if we were to lose the wonderful traditions of the Persian peoples.

Knowrooz as I spell it, is based on undersranding the Cosmos. The Wise Thought is a Cosmological space time principle based on the polarity principle. The first polarity is space and time. The next polarity is within an individual's free will to choose so.

There is more to this.

Happy Knowrooz to all at HP. Thank you for giving us a space to share.
