Not sure what the NRA's position is, but I am sure you would want even more laws to make sure this type of criminal activity never happens again.

If this occurred at Fort Knox, why does the link photo show a row of Russian soldiers holding AK-74s?

The photo editor couldn't find a photo of US soldiers?

Editors who don't know diddly about the subject they're editing are almost as dangerous as legislators who don't know anything about what they're legislating.

But at least we aren't paying for the editors.

Haven't you noticed that virtually every firearm-related story here comes up with the same set of pictures? It's either a list of pro-gun politicians, images from recent tragedies, or random stock images features *any* kind of gun.

One could almost believe it's automated - whenever any variation of "gun" or "shoot" comes up, those get tagged.

Another criminal ignoring our gun laws. Doesn't he/she know you can't murder a person with a gun. It's against the law. He should have used a knife to murder the employee. Ummm...no that's against the law too. Ok, a baseball bat to murder the employee. Ummmm...no, that against the law too. I guess the best way would have been to just murder the employee with their fists and kicks to the head, in a beat down. That way, he/she mostly likely would only get charged with manslaughter. Then, no gun laws would have been broken.

So, if a secure military facility is the site of a gun murder, how is an armed guard at an elementary school going to stop a mass shooting?

Government has become too big for its britches
12:48 PM on 04/04/2013
AndyB62....I be happy to answer that question.  Being I'm a military retiree that sent 22 years in the military.  Many of our military installations can be accessed as a vistor or a guest.  Just need a photo ID to gain access with some paperwork filled out the vistor checkpoint.  Or you can be escorted on the installation as a guest of a military member.  It would be fairly easy to get a gun onto a military installation. I won't go into details of how for security reasons.  But, everyone is subject to search at anytime for any reason.  Yeah, even if you're a minority....oh, the horror! OMG...profiling, racism, and discrimination at it's worst. And I will now end this with one cold hard fact.  The gun used to murder the Fort Knox employee did not kill him.  It was the criminal that pulled the trigger on the gun that killed him.  Herein endth the lesson.

Why NOT use a gun?

You can kill so many more people faster than any READILY AVAILABLE other source.

Guns kill better than anything else and are so easy to find.

Why does gun violence keep escalating when we as a country have more guns than ever before?

dethburger...take off your tunnel vision blinders.  That is the problem with liberals.  They only see one part of the big picture and ignore the rest. The point I was trying to make is that outlawing guns will not stop a criminal intent of murdering another human.  Their are murders committed even in maximum security prisons, so outlawing guns is not the answer.  But or course, I will never convince 2nd amendment haters that guns are not the problem. Criminals are the problem.  The guy who murder the employee should have a bounty put on his/her head "Wanted, Dead, Dead, Dead".

Actually, archery equipment are more efficient in killing than a firearm. Gun violence is down in this country, it's increasing in other countries, such as England and Australia and other countries.

Democrats have an answer coming to a theater near you. It is get rid of all guns, all knifes, eating utinsels, sharp objects and resort to eating soup through a straw while being placed in a holding cell with government food, medicine, schooling and oh yes a free cell phone. How close are we now?

We have a great media push on the right to anger and to draw out aggression from its base.

There is a big part of the problem.

The fact that the same group is progun only makes it worse.
