Beep beep beep...this was only a test of the criminal wall street crash test system.

It has confirmed traders run around like chickens with their heads cut off at the slightest provovation....

If this had been an actual emergency the traders we speak of would possibly have destroyed the global economy. have a nice day.....

Most trading is run by algorithms these days. The amount of human interaction is minimal.

This is the AP we're talking about.

I am not so certain it was hacked at all.

We all know how the AP works and that the top dog over there is a rove hack!

A legitimate long term investor looks at the long term and would not panic over one news item. Day and computer traders are not true "investors", but gamers. They do not deserve our respect as they do nothing for the economy.

Do you not realize that this effects any person in this country that has a 401K, a pension plan for the police, firemen etc. So in essence you wish ill for your fellow Americans...one word comes to mind...bitter!!! This is the perfect example of your buying into the "have" and "have not" scenario that has been crammed down the publics throat!!! Grow up and think for yourself!!

Wouldn't a smart person wait until it was confirmed on, like, CNN or something?

Oh, wait...never mind.

And this is the means by which we judge the state of our economy. The Dow.

It tells us nothing right up to the very nano-second our economy crashes. And it can be set plunging on the basis of a fake tweet.

Whatta racket. Whatta deal. What could go wrong?

The State of the Economy is rather grim and our President is partly responsible...He does not understand economics and he has a lot of people advising him who only understand a little..He is a VERY poor leader....and I am not talking about his net worth..

So, some Wall St. type is into selling short. He sells his clients' stock (without their knowledge or consent) and then put's out something like this to make the market plunge. He replaces the "borrowed" stock at the lower price and pockets the difference. The actual owners of the stock know nothing and get nothing while the Wall St. type makes bank.
02:46 PM on 04/23/2013
You can't short a client's shares without their knowledge. They consent when they open their account, and there are types of accounts where it isn't possible. The problem is Americans are too time constrained, too lazy or merely too dumb to actually read their brokerage agreement before they sign it.

That once and for all dispels any idea that President Obama is bad for the stock market.

04:35 PM on 04/23/2013
why can't people invest in the stock market if Obama is so great?

According to initial reports on RT, the Syrian Electronic Army has claimed responsibility. I didn't realize they were supporters of CISPA... #bad timing.
