Don't know what that coach was thinking...his tallest/best shot blocker was on the bench and there were 2.2 seconds left, so you can't be called for defensive 3 seconds...just park him in the middle, if someone hits a jumper to beat you, so be it, but to give LaBron a layup is just stupid!!!!
08:56 AM on 05/23/2013
The Heat went with a small line-up so the coach put a line-up in to match.

He could have pulled up and shot over Hibbert, and for him it's just slightly more risky than the layup.
08:49 AM on 05/23/2013
To not double team Lebron on that play is beyond stupid.

It would have been if it was someone like Kobe or MJ who always demand the last shot. But James is as good a passer as he is a shooter, and he's perfectly willing to let someone else take the last shot. Covering him is a lot trickier than it sounds.

Score or flop? The decision he makes on every play.

Hmmm, I think he also has the option to steal, pass, block or rebound by his numbers.

Not to disagree, but you and I could have made that layup. Woeful defense.

He had a triple triple last night, something I'm quite certain you couldn't do. That layup was just icing on the cake, and it was a very heads up play, whether it came from the bench or Lebron.

Michael Jordans Bulls(in his prime), would wipe out the Heat!!!

Doubt it. Norris Cole will be an all-star in a year or two if he keeps developing the way he is. James could limit Jordan defensively due to his size. He would still get his points, but the Heat could win a series against them.
09:14 AM on 05/23/2013
Wipe them out? I doubt that. But, I would love to see a series between the two.

An amazing bolt to to rack by LBJ, wow! That's what the MVP does, no way Hibbert should have been off the court on the final play, the coach choked.

He coached a good game to that point, I think he spit the bit at the end(choke).

MJ is old news LBJ is the man. Miguel Cabrera is good but hes no Babe Ruth. cmon son.

By that reckoning .. MJ can't be talked about either ... I believe Bill Russell rules in the Championship Dept.

Nope. He gets a step and must put the ball on the floor before his other foot hits the ground. That is what the video reveals.

News Flash! "Indiana Pacers Are Out-Coached in the Last 3 Seconds". KJames (triple double) saw the situation (no big man clogging the middle) and took immediate advantage. A huge missed opportunity by the Pacers to steal a game in Miami.

LeBron James is simply great, marvelous.

The greatest, however, remains the Great Michael Jordan.

Sorry, but Roy Hibberts is no Shaq or Dwight Howard. Porbably would still not have worked. If anything it would have forced a foul and James would have gone to the line.

I watched the final play over and over.  And still cannot believe that LeBron took the inbounds pass, made his turn and then covered more than 20 feet in just a click over two seconds before making that shot.
Truly as awesome a play as when Michael Jordan managed to sink a jumper and win a game with only one-tenth of a second on the clock.

Larry Bird took inbounds passes and scored game winners in under 2 seconds several times. So has Jordan and a few others.

Yeah I know it's LeBron so it's a first.

How is he claiming it a first when he references Jordan's game winner with a tenth of a second left?
