The question is not was the White House aware of the trip, but was it sanctioned by the WH. I don't think so...

Time to beat your Congressman!

Representatives and Senators should be banned from going on trips such as this unless specifically requested by the State Department and authorized by the White House. McCain is well known for his meddling in foreign affairs and military matters where his input is not needed. Congressmen are representatives of their State, not of this nation. It's the Executive and the State Department that are our international representatives. Politicians are just disasters waiting to happen.

No way he went without consent of the administration and a drone escort. Senators don't just wander into war zones undetected.

this old relic (mccain) needs to be put out to the pasture. the middle east has for years fundled money out of the US for decades. let Russia go into debt for them. these imbeciles will stop fighting once they see no one will fund them they will conviently get some sense. how in the world do you know who you are supporting. let them fight and soon when there is no money and weapons they will stop.

So in the hour he was in Syria, did he put his support behind the Muslim Brotherhood faction or the al Qaeda faction? This is not necessarily the fight like our Revolutionary War. The fighters are extremists and will create a theocracy when they win.

Or did he just miss the perpetual state of war?

No one has been able to answer my question on how much of the taxpayer money was used on this trip.

At least he will never be able to travel on Air Force One. Thank God.

McCain is a neocon itching for one more war in his lifetime. He has lived with war and apparently lives for war. Obama should have told McCain to stay home.

I totally agree; I'm actually impressed by McCain (though he kind of did bash an American President on foreign ground; senility can be a terrible thing).
