Meanwhile, real threats to society - violent offenders - at times get much shorter sentences.

So, our Private prisons aren't making enough money yet? What a complete waste of money, resources, and common sense.

At a cost of $30,000 for incarceration, this judge just cost the taxpayers $600,000 and considering future inflation, that figure could easily reach over a million.
Talk about a waste of money and a wasted life over a socially accepted use. The judge should be impeached.

the judge is REQUIRED to give him the mandatory minimum. his hands were tied. and they probably spent millions investigating this clown. legalize it NOW!! enough of this crap!!!

Unfortunately for him, this is his SECOND felony drug conviction and 1000 plants isn't personal use.

None of that substantiates a 20 year sentence for an herb now legal in 18 states for medical use and two for recreation.

Prohibition is all it is, and all it has ever been.

One day in the future, generations will look back on this ridiculous never-ending attack on weed and wonder why we spent so much time, effort and money...

In the future? ... In the 70's you could not go to a rock concert without the sweet smell of marijuana filling the air ..... It was practically legal then ..... We are going backwards.

SOOOO!!!! LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT!! in Washington and Colorado people are growing weed and selling it for recreational use and the fed does nothing. but they arrest this clown and give him 20 years!! way to go uncle sam!!!!!!!!!!!!

He will be out in 3, but what's this about child molester? if true keep him the whole 20
11:22 AM on 06/01/2013
its federal... he has to serve the whole 20. no parole.... its absurd and the fed. shows just how out of touch they are.
11:53 AM on 06/01/2013
so is child molester as well? mitigates in my mind, as not just pot but actually a person to keep incarcerated...?

By all means, lets release a child molester to make room for this menace to society.
11:12 AM on 06/01/2013
naturally.

it would have helped if he wouldn't have wore his clown suit to court. I also heard he was honking his horn while the judge was trying to talk. not smart at all. :-)

Considering how that man earned a living, I would consider it a crime he couldn't use and grow weed. What kind of a judge imposes this kind of a sentence to a guy making a living dodging bulls#%t daily.
11:10 AM on 06/01/2013
yep. 95% or more of the cops on the street aren't brave/crazy enough to do his job. I certainly want no parts of it. the only way I want to deal with an out of control bull is with a rifle. not that rodeo bulls are mean, far from it. but still it is a very dangerous job.
