Offspring of the military-industrial complex. Identified 50 years ago, and still our master.

Long term politicians don't just slop at the public trough: they slop at the public trust.
Term limits now.

Good! It may be the only way to get some of these people out of office since no one seems to want to vote them out.

Don't hold your breath waiting, our Congress operates on the Golden rule, "He who has the Gold makes the rules." It not likely that the rule makers will make rules that they actually follow.

Yes she did, and thats exactly what this "hot scoop" suggests is going on, the Ethics Committee has some members under scrutiny, in some circles its called an investigation.

And we worry about Afghanastan. This has to be the most corrupt government we ever have had.

Indeed. The corporate interests that govern this country, are criminal at best, and deserve zero confidence...and most of them, jail time.

My suspicion is, they know if they open that Pandora's Box, some Democrats will jump out. That was my thought as soon as Nancy P "took impeachment off the table" in 2006...she knew they were in it with the Republicans, up to their eyeballs.

Where is a list of all 30? If it was in the Washington Post article, I didn't see it. I don't trust the media to give me everything.

While your rolling on the floor have a quick look at your Funk and Wagnalls to see the meaning of "under scrutiny", you might be surprised to find it doesn't mean proof positive of wrong doing.
09:56 AM on 10/30/2009
Given that congress only investigates it's own when the evidence of wrongdoing is absolute, then I'd say "scrutiny", in this case, pretty much equates to guilty.

Murtha just can't keep his hand out of the cookie jar. Don't forget Crazy Maxine and her thug counterpart Richardson in California.

The committee said it is investigating whether Rep. Maxine Waters used her influence to help a bank in which her husband owned stock, and whether the couple benefited as a result. Separately, the panel is investigating whether Rep. Laura Richardson failed to disclose required information on her financial disclosure forms and received special treatment from a lender.

Vindicated by whom? She sets up a meeting for a bank in which her husband has interest and they end up with 12.1M in government funding.
