If we could rid the world of those superstitious books and the people who make money off them, we could make better progress.

I believe that life can take forms that we would not even realize was in our presence. After all, we actually are nothing more but pure energy (try to explain that to a bagger).

"I believe that LIFE CAN TAKE FORMS THAT WE WOULD NOT EVEN REALIZE WAS IN OUR PRESENCE. After all, we actually are nothing more but pure energy (try to explain that to a bagger)."

Your statement then QUALIFIES the potential of the SPIRIT REALM and thus the potential existence of God. Explained away.

I like the "PSEUDO SCIENCE" this condescending individual keep SPEWING... (It's always GREAT when their ARROGANCE makes them start MOUTHING OFF) It's "PSEUDO SCIENCE" because you don't BELIEVE IN IT! (Too bad the REAL WORLD doesn't operate that way!) I still have NO CLUE how that "PERSON" got onto my friend's list! WOW!

I think it is truly naive (in some cases willfully) that out of all the billions of gazillions of planets out there that we are somehow the "only" life. The odds DO NOT favor this naive thought. Life doesn't even have to be carbon based "BUT" just narrowing the field to just carbon based life forms there are billions of class "M" planets with suns like are own in the sweet zone. The odds are very high that there "IS" life out there. Even life further advanced than our own....ponder this for a moment; it's actually possible "WE" as earth beings could of actually been seeded here from one of those planets as a project to extend another species who were unable to make the trip themselves. We in "actual reality" have a facility called the "Ark" for the exact same idea. Collecting DNA of all life to possibly seed other planets & let evolution happen....that ought to blow a few of your minds.

If you hold your arms wide, and that is representation of the entire span of earth's existence, then pre-Cambrian goes from one hand all the way across to the opposite wrist. That means that all life forms until that time were single cells. If you take an emery board and rub it across the tip of your longest finger on that hand, you have wiped out human existence on this scale. So not only are the distances huge, but the windows of opportunity are tiny.

Wow...50 % of Americans do not have faith in the word of God written in the Bible....that clarifies the level of hatred and selfishness that exist!
09:40 AM on 06/21/2013
Yes, because if you don't believe in God you are automatically consumed by hate!

I think we have a better chance at finding intelligent life elsewhere in the universe than we do in congress.

Kinda hard to "know" something when there's no evidence that it exists. It's the same as "knowing" that there is a god.

Yeah, the questions are poorly worded. I think it's extremely likely that there's other life in the universe, just as it's extremely unlikely that it's visited us, but I don't 'know' either thing.
09:37 AM on 06/21/2013
Not really. Given the enormous number of stars in this galaxy and the number of galaxies in the known Universe it is essentially a statistical impossibility that there NOT be life elsewhere. I recommend "Probability 1" by Amir Aczel.

Considering life is a natural phenomenon and the universe is functionally infinite, sure why not. But then people start piling baggage onto that assertion, postulating little green men in flying saucers, space men building the pyramids or hovering over Utah, which is patently absurd.
