Bull hocky, Al qaeda, is the enemy that we name. the real enemy is the war mongers that make money off of the governments. Al qaeda= any arab or islamist that disagrees, =any number of people that are called terrorist = any mid- eastern member of a group that doesn't like the way things are set up for them by the regime in power.

FASCISM
Political scientist Dr. Lawrence Britt wrote an article about fascism. Studying the fascist regimes of Hitler, Mussolini, Franco, Suharto, and Pinochet, Dr. Britt found they all had 14 elements in common. He calls these the identifying characteristics of fascism.
Powerful and Continuing Nationalism [USA, USA]
Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights [Voting Rights]
Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause [terrorists]
Supremacy of the Military [huge defense apparatus]
Rampant Sexism [War on women]
Controlled Mass Media [Fox and friends]
Obsession with National Security [NSA, CIA, FBI and more]
Religion and Government are Intertwined [ultra conservative evangelistic]
Corporate Power is Protected [low or no tax, bailout, legislation by lobbiests]
Labor Power is Suppressed [unions demonized, crushed]
Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts [widespread]
Obsession with Crime and Punishment [and imprisoning for profit by private firms]
Rampant Cronyism and Corruption [revolving-door Congressman/Lobbyist]
Fraudulent Elections [voters rights and effectiveness under attack]

I doubt Al Quaida was that dumb, they knew it even before. What is the real damage here is the relation with the so called allies. None of them came out to be at the US side nor they will. Trust is gone and this will have some impacts one day.

During WW-ii America earned credit as a beacon of liberty, but criminal operations had exhausted that credit by the 1980s; Bin Laden and others were able to recruit fanatics because the US has earned a reputation for illegal operations by the CIA and others toppling governments and promoting terror and injustice around the world... Thanks to the NSA and others the principles of liberty and law have been eroded into submission in the US.

1) Everyone knows that Al Qaida is not a centralized group, that it, in fact, doesn't exist beyond certain groups claiming to be the local branch.

2) Anonymous geovernment leaks to let us know that what Snowden did is really bad? GMAB.

Perhaps I fell down a rabbit hole on the way to Wonderland, but it seems to me that what we have here when government employees speak anonymously, is another "leak." So--- the government is fighting leaks with leaks to further demonize Snowden--------- or it is simply impossible to prevent leaks----- therefore, I'd suggest we have "good leaks," which the government wants to get out there to bolster their position, and "bad leaks," which are unauthorized leaks which would embarrass the government.
