This is one of the reasons i don't think much of archaeology as a science. Given there have only been three toe rings found according to this article, and only two of them copper, the fact that one of the wearers has a toe ring on an injured foot cannot be taken to mean much at all. Two out of the three did not have injuries. So to give them a"magical" meaning, as opposed to some sort of ornamental use is baseless. Unlike comparing anatomical differences, this is simply opinion.

Who knew that a mere 3000 years later toe rings would be worn by hippies and fat girls.

They are not "defilinggraves". They are doing important research that helps us understand one of the most magnificent empires of all time.

No bid deal. I seen toe rings on women, girls and some young fellows. I rather a toe ring than a ring through my nose or 'tongue-studs'.

I wasted an hour and 41 minutes watching the video at the end of the slideshow. Back in the
early 70's I wasted a day reading Von Daniken's "Chariot's of the Gods". Nothing new here.

OK, what's so mysterious about toe rings?

There are plenty of other, more important and meaningful discoveries and excavations occurring in other parts of the world. But, attach the term "ancient Egypt" onto something, and automatically it gets sensationalized all out of proportion.

"Great New Stupendous News Just out of Egypt. The 4582nd mummy has been found." See what I mean.

"we will look into further, checking through sources such as the corpus of magico-medical spells that have survived from ancient Egypt,"

Don't bother to study, just read the "Winged Pharaoh" by Joan Grant :)))

Did they wear toads on their toes?

I haven't read the article yet, but that would be a good answer to, "Egyptians wore WHAT on their toes?" TOADS!

No way!

Way!
