Dogs are the best. I trust my dog more than most people.

so dumb. Anybody with a dog recognizes that behavior--it's either burying something or trying to make a bed for itself. The randomness of it is exactly what my dogs do when they want to make the couch comfy. It's still cute that the dog might want to nap next to the baby!! It was interesting that the dog looked at the baby's face several times for affirmation (but didn't get it)

I have never considered a dog "man's best friend". "An estimated 4.7 million dog bites occur in the U.S. each year. Unsupervised newborns were 370 times more likely than an adult to be killed by a dog." (source: American Humane Association)

That's what they all say. A neighbor's "good dog" came into a friend's yard and ripped open the face of her daughter. My own daughter was sitting next to a dachshund who was supposed to be very docile. It was wagging its tail when it lunged and bit her in the face. I can count multiple other instances of seemingly "nice" dogs who suddenly aren't so nice. We've overbred and undertrained them all. Then we place all our trust in them to be "man's best friend". It's an accident waiting to happen.

Great video until the woman begins to talk. Does she expect the dog to respond and carry on a conversation with her?

My dog does the same thing when she has a treat that she's saving for later. I am sure this dog has more benign intentions.

What if the dog was planning to eat the baby later?

My fave was when our Boxer sat next to a baby that was wobbling.....The Boxer would nudge the baby ever so lightly when it looked like the baby was falling over. The Boxer kept the baby upright for a long time! Then the baby stuck a wet finger through the ring on the Boxer's collar. The Boxer held the baby up some more and then looked at me with imploring eyes. I took over the baby sitting duties at that point. Heidi, the Boxer was obviously relieved and Diana, the baby just kept on cooing!
