the companies that were given an exception are a small percentage and the ones fighting it the most.

They gave big business a reprieve and postponed implementation of the employer section of the new law. Why not delay it for individuals? Give individuals the option to sign up for it or not through the exchanges which is will be partially in place. All this will do is wave the penalty for non-compliance for a year.

OK...NO!!! Why not. The exchanges will be partially in place. States that have agreed to opt in for the extension of Medicaid will be able to take new members if they want. So you believe only big business should have this benefit instead of the average Joe?

When Obamacare goes into affect, your company will no longer pay for your healthcare if they are a smart business. The fine/tax is going to be cheaper and they don't have to continue to worry with the prices going up and down. get ready to pay your own healthcare or the FINE. That's right. If you don't purchase your own, you too pay the FINE/TAX. TRUTH.

You hit the nail on the head, but you will get many negative comments because people will not believe the truth about this law until it smacks them in the face. By then it will be too late to do anything about it. The days of employer based insurance plans are on their way out. The numbers are easy enough to figure out. 50 employees and average cost of policy is around $4500...that is $225,000. First 30 employees exempt from the fine so that leaves 20 employees at $2000 each equals $40,000...net savings $185,000.

You are absolutely right. I received notice already that my group coverage is increasing 30% beginning next January.

Insurance? It's mandated! My way or the highway!

Libs were never real good at math. Even if the fine is tripled, it is still a savings of $65,000.

Why is it a game to give the individual Americans a delay? The President gave that option to big business.

So what did the RepubliCants accomplish? The same thing they always accomplish ... nothing. Nothing but a waste of time and tax payer money.
03:36 PM on 07/18/2013
Tax payer money wasting? Wait till Obamacare kicks in and the nations taxpayers get to pay for the freeloaders' insurance, you'll be happier than ever you don't have a job.

We are already paying. Every hospital that gets stiffed on a bill because the patient had no insurance gets paid by tax dollars. This money is going to pay for the most part of the coverage.

Carney says the people will have more choices....They always had more choices....come back deniers and brainwashed...The law MANDATES what CHOICES you have...When will education be a priority in this land...BTW the politricksters have been sinceGeorge Washington telling the sheples how they were going to focus on education...Doubters, look up their inaguration speeches..Every last one of them used that same speal...Only one used the phrase, "ask not what your country can do for you" In other words GET A JOB...
05:49 PM on 07/18/2013
Good comment. Didn't Lincoln also use "ask not what your country can do for you"

ACA will be great. See California. See Refunds. See pre existing conditions etc. See Students, You can see the same doctor.
You will see when it gets going how it will benefit millions You will be embarrassed about your doubts later. Be Brave. Read the Act, ring the Consultation Phone Lines. You can keep your Private Insurance if you desire.
Get Informed properly.

That was a great rebuttal. Especially the way you listed what was wrong with all the points he posted.

Oh...wait. Baggers don't use facts whenever a childish comeback is available.

I am a huge fan of the ACA. My health costs have already shrunk and my premiums have gone down. Go ahead and try to repeal it all you want, not going to happen.

Who pays for your discount?? Get a brain that functions with the discount...
03:34 PM on 07/18/2013
Maybe YOU'RE the one that needs to get a brain. Who pays a hundred times more for the uninsured's visits to the uber expensive emergency room. Guess what?...it's everyone else. With the ACA, these people will have access to Doctors visits.....waaay cheaper. Check with a neurologist to see why your brain doesn't function.
02:35 PM on 07/18/2013
If that is true, you are either really old, had medical problems in the past or they made an error on your bill.

It appears there is a full speed ahead onslaught of trolls trying their best to create a meme that somehow the ACA is terrible and has no backing. This could not be further from the truth. I've noticed that on Facebook the same thing is happening. Clearly there have been talking points delivered and marching orders given. Don't be fooled. The ACA is a great step forward and we're lucky we have it. Now, if it needs improvement, have at it. But to throw the baby out with the bathwater and nix the act altogether would be the height of partisan folly.
02:30 PM on 07/18/2013
Carney speaks of choices...A MANDATE is not a choice...
03:25 PM on 07/18/2013
And the people who are paying for your healthcare now, through higher insurance and hospitalization costs, don't have a choice either. Deadbeats are gonna make them pay anyway....and pay a lot more because all the deadbeats go to the uber expensive emergency room.
02:48 PM on 07/18/2013
The last poll I saw only gives it a 35% approval rating. The only people who benefit are the poor and immigrants who will be covered on taxpayer backs. Even the unions are complaining!!

I was in control of myself when I decided to join the Peace Corps (Lesotho, South Africa), translator and still in control of myself as a Senor Companion, an American Citizen and a faithful voter. Where is yours so-called "control?"

Let's see...Try to block the Affordable Care Act? Check! Try to take away minimal nutrition from the poorest Americans? Check! Renew handouts to rich agricultural corporations? Check! Show total lack of empathy toward the majority of working Americans while showering gifts on the Koch Bros. and their greedy cohort? Check!
Well done, House Tea Party Republicans! Keep up the good work!

I am on a relative of the ACA called Medicare. Seem to recall a Republican named Paul Ryan who wants to do away with that for people following me. Ah well, at least we have consistency in 'empathetic' thinking.
01:53 PM on 07/18/2013
Those that paid nothing for their care in the past will continue to receive free care in the future. Obama knew this then and knows it now. The only difference is everyone will pay more for his largest voting bloc to continue to nuzzle.
