There is no "Arab Land"! It's legally disputed land .................that Israel won from Jordan BEFORE it became "disputed land".....................Noone disputed that it was Jordan's............the Israel bashers at the UN decided that it became "Disputed" after Israel won it from Jordan in the 1967 War! Funny how that worked out, huh!!!

The International Court of Justice, the UN General Assembly and the United Nations Security Council regards Israel as the "Occupying Power". The term "Occupying Power" has taken on a precise legal meaning following the International Court of Justice advisory opinion in July 2004 that Israel is occupying this territory in violation of international law. The Israeli High Court of Justice concurs with this language, and has ruled that Israel holds the West Bank under "belligerent occupation". United Nations Security Council Resolution 478 declared the annexation of Jerusalem "null and void" and required that it be rescinded. United Nations Security Council Resolution 497 also declared the annexation of the Golan "null and void".

Recently the Israeli government has attempted to introduce the term "disputed territories". :))

Neither would Israel if the tables were turned. No one likes to have land stolen from them.
01:10 PM on 07/21/2013
so we can agree that the Pales won't get all they want?
and about land stealing- Arabs and Americans can't lecture about that.

">> Arabs came from Arabia
Palestinians came from Palestine, and Jews came from Europe."

no. if you call yourself"Arab" you say you came from Arabia. and Jews came from Judea. originaly.

">> nd as an Israeli I don't think it's my interest that the Pales will get much of what they want.
Car thieves and burglars probably have the same attitude to their victims"

but I took only what's main and proud of it.

have fun!

WHY do you think there will be Jews in it? Right NOW NO JEWS can live in any Arab towns in Judea and Samaria........so what's going to change?? Stop dreaming, neither side wants that!!
07:52 AM on 07/20/2013
“Right NOW NO JEWS can live in any Arab towns in Judea and Samaria”

‘Judea and Samaria’ is an obsolete term which has been replaced by the ‘West Bank’, also there are plenty of Jews (albeit violent zealot Jews) living in Hebron, look here is proof:

"Settlers attack Palestinian homes in Hebron"

This means one or two weeks of meetings, accusations to the press about the other side and finally, both sides storming out of the meeting, accusing the other of being intractable. Hope for a pleasant suprise, but history shows otherwise.

Historically, the only ones who have stormed out of the negotiation room have been the Arabs, while the representatives of Israel have been sitting, eager to resume peace talks for the sake of reaching an accommodation of peaceful coexistence with the Arabs. The Arabs, on the other hand, appear to have been interested to show that they want peace, receive a piece in return, but never making a single gesture or concession toward a peaceful end. Sadly, this has been the history of the process to date. Let us hope this time the Arabs have learnt to actually apply themselves to the task at hand.

>> Historically, the only ones who have stormed out of the negotiation room have been the Arabs,

False. First of all, no one stormed out of the negotiation room and secondly, Barak called of the Taba talks in 2001, even though both sides said they were close to a settlement

>>while the representatives of Israel have been sitting, eager to resume peace talks for the sake of reaching an accommodation of peaceful coexistence with the Arabs.

That's a bit like saying the wife beating husband is just waiting patiently at home for his abused wife to return.

>> The Arabs, on the other hand, appear to have been interested to show that they want peace, receive a piece in return, but never making a single gesture or concession toward a peaceful end.

Is giving up 50% of your land not enough of a concession for you?

The U.S. gives over $30 billion a year in foreign aide to Israel every year. We wouldn't acknowledge Palestine as a separate state at the U.N. Now we run in wanting everybody to play nice.

Te aid to Egypt (and Jordan) is part fo teh total cost of supporting Israel. They are essentially bribes to the ruler of those states to turn a blind eye to Israel's criminality

Another clueless Democrat eager and willing to throw billions more of our hard earned tax dollars to these 2 countries who know how to play Kerry and Obama like a fiddle.

Carter did it, Clinton did it, but talk is all they did.

It's in both Israel and Palestines interest to go along with the American fools!

This is theater either to buy Israel time before the Palestinians file with the ICJ or for Obama to cover his political butt before he disengages and the EU steps in and fixes this. It is unconscionably disingenuous to suggest that everyone doesn't already know how the key issues have to be agreed to to ever make a deal. And it's mendacious rhetoric to pretend there is any chance Israel is capable of ever considering those issues in an honest manner.

Do you think Obama will bring in Dennis Ross again, or will Netanyahu? :))

No, their filing with the ICJ has nothing to do with war crimes. it's to end the occupation if their state as defined by the UN last November. The IDJ ruling will lay the foundation for international economic sanctions.

peace in the region would set a fine example

Israel has already proven its quest for peace by negotiating and keeping peace accords with both Egypt and Jordan. Israel has proven that it is willing and able to make painful and significant compromises with its unfriendly neighbors in order to live together in Harmony. The Palestinians cannot and will not make peace with anyone. In addition to Israel they are in a brutal conflict with Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and practically any other country in which they reside. Israel has demonstrated over and over its peaceful intentions. The Palestinians have proven their cruel and warring ways. The burden of proof is certainly on them.
