Because the department of interiors job involves combating climate change a climate change denier has no place in such an organization.

The climate has always changed. It's called a force of nature. If the climate didn't change, we could be stuck in an ice age, or we could have jungles in upper Canada.

As I recall, Superman was sent to earth to save the weak from evildoers because his father alone accepted the science predicting the destruction of Krypton. I would have thought that Christ-figure narrative would powerfully incline Americans to see action to forestall disaster as a heroic opportunity. I guess 'Atlas Shrugged' was the preferred comic book after all.

Baggers cleave to the Bible when it comes to gays, uteruses, and science but when it is time to hate the poor they run to Ayn Rand like it is Thanksgiving midnight at Walmart.

When I hear a denier, I always wonder why you wouldn't want to err on the side of caution. We only have one earth.

Read the last chapter of Ehrlich's Population Bomb. He advocates creation of an iron handed world government to control food supplies and triage, since the world is too far gone to save everyone. Then he says "If I'm right we save millions of lives. and if I'm wrong, what harm is there? (in having a dictatorial world government????) He was, of course, colossally wrong on most of his predictions. So yes, let's err on the side of caution-- and not destroy our economy over global warming predictions that still have major flaws and skeptics (what you call deniers)

Yes, but if we are not enjoying our lives and bankrupting our children in the process whats the point?

Good. There is no place for "belief" in a deparment that is about science and reality.

Look closely at the face of Sally Jewell and listen even more closely to her words.

This is the face of collectivist tyranny and these are the words of the Borg collective. When they gain sufficient power, resistance is futile.

Revolt now.

I'm revolted by folks who won't allow skepticism or dissent over theories that are still not settled.

The GOTP Is Disorganized Hypocrisy
10:33 AM on 08/02/2013
Jewell is correct. Any climate change denier has no place in our government. They belong on a circus midway instead, where illusions and magic reign. Unfortunately, the vast majority of GOTP legislators are just that: science denying clowns who disdain of education and reality.
