And these fairly moderate tweaks will cause people to wait in line to get one?

GREAT SCOTT! A third color! Well, that just might be the final straw to make me drop my Galaxy Note 1, which will likely surpass the iphone 5s in all other tech specs. Or... not.

I am am Android lover till the day I die, but there was something about Steve Jobs expression of the iPhone that just made me fall in love with it. I am not an Apple fan nor do I want to be I just love the iPhone and plan on starting my iPhone collection, when the Five reaches peak (three months after release),its impossible not to be excited every year Apple out do themselves with what ever product they produce. I just think with the new CEO, people need to feel him out more before buying the 5, even though he has been to every development meeting since 2007. Just my thought on the matter.

Yawn. Still way behind Android.
11:18 AM on 08/14/2013
Behind Android ? Maybe that rock you are under is too heavy for you to lift by yourself . If your Android phone can handle it , try and call someone to help you lift that rock off of you , then get educated . Perhaps once you are educated , you won't find yourself under anymore rocks in the future :)
12:21 PM on 08/14/2013
Educated about what????? It is a fact that the iPhone is way behind Android. Size, Power, Speed, Functionality, When you look at 1 single company making 1 device and 1 upgrade per year as opposed to multiple companies making multiple phones with multiple releases throughout the year, you can see where the first company would have a hard time staying ahead of the curve.

I love my iPhone but they need to make it more durable. Make it where the glass doesn't shatter s easily. I've never had that issue myself but anytime my phone is out the otter box I get nervous.

I've had a 3, 4, now a 5, no broken glass and I use a minimal cover to keep the back from scratching, that's all no otter box.

I did drop an iPad 2 recently shattering the glass...still works,,typing on it now...will replace with a mini...weight and size better suited to travel for me...

So maybe a Freud was right...there are no accidents...the iPad2 didn't leap off,the table,by itself...

I agree. I live an active life. My phone goes through alot. I horse backride and sometimes I'm alone and it's better to keep my phone on me just incase something were to happen. My phone has fallen out of my pocket while going at a pretty decent speed and I'm sure my phone wouldn't have lasted a week without the otter box. I have an iPad as well, it has a small crack that is hidden by the case. I would just prefer them not to be as paranoing to have sometime lol
11:22 AM on 08/14/2013
Let's hope that the new scratch resistant glass is also more durable . I have never broke the glass on my phone yet , but hear people talk about it . I say just be easier and more careful with your phone , but that's my opinion :)

Your ignorance is showing. It would be less than 50K for 100 shares, it has NEVER closed over $702 per share, and that was almost a year ago. Also, did you know stock prices go up and down? Only 9 years ago, you could have paid 20 bucks a share. As it happens, I have way more than 100 shares - so get in line with the rest of the geeks and make me some more money.

A smart investor would want to know as much about his investment as possible . Even though you are not a savvy investor , you did get lucky in choosing a stock which people far more intelligent then you have given you the means to notice . You let others spell things out for you then try and pat yourself on the back for benefiting from their intelligence . No one is impressed with your banter . So instead of trying to look intelligent on here by biting the hands that feed you.....learn something , instead . Knowledge.......what a concept !

It's amusing to see which posters feel taken in by Apple's marketing and need to lash out! Your unintelligent post says much more about you than your lame assertions about me. If you have any money (doubtful), it sounds like maybe you bought in at 650 or so? Meanwhile, keep up your attempts at mind-reading (but don't quit your day job if you have one) and get in line to buy your new iPhone. I hear this one might be available in a gold color! It'll be awesome.

I build 'em for fun, and to supply poor kids with a half-decent machine. I don't have to worry about that. Please don't tell me you're another of those boring Apple fanboi types.

The feature I am looking forward to: being depressed that teenage brats are walking around with phones that equate roughly to my mortgage payment and they use them to look at pictures of cats, sext, and bully their classmates.... oh and each one contains more computing power than NASA when we landed on the moon

Memory slot? Almost obsolete tech.

Replaceable battery? Who keeps a phone that long? Do you have dial up and a rotary phone?

Sheesh, weak

Replaceable battery? My first iPhone, six years old is still running as an alarm clock. Yup...had to replace it as it only had 4G memory.

I just rec'd this firmware update for my macbook:
This update addresses a rare issue on some Apple notebooks where a battery that has accumulated more than 1000 charge cycles may unexpectedly shut down or stop functioning, requiring the use to fork over $100 for a new one.
I particularly like the use of the words "rare" and "unexpectedly".
08:08 PM on 08/13/2013
Anyone getting bored yet? If not ...buy the new one, ...if so ...you'll probably want to switch! The I- hasn't changed much in years. I had one for quite a while. To each their own phone!
