hahaha. Nice sarcasm. Meat eaters need extra amounts of the super foods to try and offset some of the damage they do to their bodies by eating meat.

So, what's your theory on why ancient humans made long and dangerous migrations to some of the most remote and desolate corners of the planet to get the stuff, when they could have just stayed in Africa had all the fruit and vegetables that could possibly have ever wanted?

Now we can expect the prices of raspberries and pumpkin seeds to soar as food faddists rush to their grocery stores to stock up so they can live forever.

I remember when that happened in the 80's with eggs and chicken gizzards. Poor people had been using them for protein--and suddenly the prices shot through the roof as their more privileged neighbors stocked their grocery carts with the new "super foods."

Don't be such suckers. Moderation in all things is what is good for you. And a diet that is both diverse and moderate is "super."

Perhaps the Democrats were wise to cut the spigot of money to Occupy.

Oh yeah. The best superfood. All those other super-foods-du-jour can be ignored. Just eat the best superfood and you'll be great.

Fads are so much fun to watch from a distance. Disney knew that when they fabricated the story about lemmings leaping to their deaths over a cliff.
08:31 AM on 09/15/2013
Yes the kale thing is beyond ridiculous, but some f & v are better for you than others.

Disney did not invent the lemming story and though they don't kill themselves, many of them do drown when migrating.

A: None of the above.

The idea of "Superfoods" is a scam.

Superfood is just a term used to describe a food that has high concentrations of certain nutrients that are good for you. So no. It is definitely not a scam.

I picked a ton of raspberries (and blackberries) over the summer and froze them so I'd have fresh/frozen berries all winter. I absolutely LOVE opening a new freezer bucket of berries, they look like brilliant, bright jewels. And the taste.... And chia seeds are wonderful. I use them in soups, sprinkled on just about any meal, baked into things...so versatile! I'm going to go have some with my lunch right now. FYI - hemp seeds (hearts) are incredible for you, too, and taste just like sunflower seeds/pine nuts.

I plan on doing that next time blueberries are in season. There is a very nice blueberry farm less than a quarter mile down the road from me that lets you pick your own.

In the photo on the front page, the berries look as of they're covered with sugar. That would negate their healthfulness.

Not a hard call depends on how many pesticides are used and if it's a GMO product or not.
If the answer is yes to either then don't eat this kind of food poising.

Superfoods. Look, don't eat processed/junk/fast food, and eat reasonable portions. Stop freaking out about which berry has more whatever in it.

Then you'll live as long as you're going to live.

Choose the ones you can afford. Eat a wide variety of foods. Include plenty of fruits and veggies and whole grains. Throw in some high quality protein sources of your choice.

Most of us are overfed but undernourished.
