If obama attacks Syria, then Syria has the right to use all assets to retaliate against the USA and Iran, Russia are on Assad's side along with Hezbollah, Muslim Brotherhood. Where is the retaliaton obama for killing of our embassy staff in benghazi?

Yeah. Because Obama was standing there, in Benghazi, participating in it. Sorry, but your boy Bushy let the worst attack since Pearl Harbor happen with all the intel he needed sitting right under his nose the entire time. Then he drove us into two wars which took out more Americans than the attacks he allowed to happen ever did!! And look at who was on our side back then...Poland? At least we have France on our side this time around.
04:24 AM on 09/03/2013
Woohoo you have France at your side.... The same France that is renowned for winning what war exactly? The US needs to stay out of Syria and let the Saudis do their own dirty work.

"""""Saudi Arabia Backs Syria Strikes, Boosting White House Case"""""""------ THE CUSTODIANS OF THE HOLY PLACES HAVE AMASSED SO MUCH WEALTH THAT THEY HAVE STARTED TO FORGET WHAT WAS DELIVERED TO THEM IN THEIR HOLY BOOK.

As they say who can teach an old dog, new tricks, but the old custodians have embarked on a new mission with their money to infiltrate and casue death of life and destruction of property, they should better consult their grand mufti, if he is strong enough to advice what is in their revealed books ----------------------- God you help those who go against your book and called themselves the custodians of your places in the name of POLITICS. Guide them to think and get some revelation from you from your HOLY PLACES before they themselves get engulfed into flames as RUSSIA HAS WARNED them. Amen. PEACE FOR THEM AND FOR ALL without bloodshed. Amen

If the Saudis can bait the US into bombing Syria and taking down the Assad regime, then their hope for a new pro Sunni regime will be realized and they don't have to do the dirty work.

Please Mr. President, do not take their bait.
12:38 AM on 09/03/2013
Go ahead Saudi Arabia. Put your boots where your money is.
12:14 AM on 09/03/2013
"It is time for the international community to assume its responsibilities and to take deterrent measures against the Syrian regime," al-Faisal said, according to Al Jazeer."

Fine, al-Faisal. Get your international ass up there and fight Assad yourself. We're tired of being used as your personal damn mercenaries.

This is a regional civil war, our involvement should be limited to addressing violations of the use of sarin gas as part of an international response.

Chess is a game of strategy and use of power. Money is a lubricant for many a political solution; even threat money. Assad knows Saudi Arabia will funnel in billions from other discrete middle east concerns that would prefer to remain anonymous and want Assad removed from power. The Russians and China are not over whelmed with excitement about their imposed on position compliments of a despot using chemical weapons and they understand the implications of Saudi Arabia's statement. Ladies and gentleman, the military industrial complex is prematurely clinking champagne glasses; we have a bank.
Assad must be allowed to exile safely. The UN or other interested parties have the next chess move, to make that happen; because Saudi Arabia just put the game in Check.
12:06 AM on 09/03/2013
Chess is a game of strategy, tactics, positions, tempo and sacrifice. The Saudis haven't put the game in check, they are adding pressure on the center game from the wings. A "check" would infer the end game. This game is still in the opening.
12:09 AM on 09/03/2013
Check is not always near the end of the game, it's just a game changer that sometimes enables a quicker end.
03:23 AM on 09/03/2013
What you mean by " even threat money "
Also what is this supposed to mean "not over welmed with excitment about their imposed on positon compliment of a despot using chemical weapons and they understand the implications of Saudi Arabia 's statement . "
Regarding the Saudies they do not play chess, they are in business of dagger, betrayals, poisons, and deceptions. That has been the best plays.
They are hoping we do their, and Israel's mutual interest to divide Syria, and Iraq.
The only country standing in their way is Shia Iran , Arabs Eternal enemy.
08:07 AM on 09/03/2013
What is about happen is; Assad will be exiled and there will be a careful transition without the dissolution of the current government. A hurried pace of legislative reforms (and a combination of amnesty and war crime charges); with a whole lot of foreign aid flowing in.

We have been selling middle eastern countries especially Saudi Arabia planes like M-16s and other sophisticated weapons for decades. For what?

Fight your own battles.

Syria produces 0.5% of the world's oil. No wonder the Republicans don't want to intervene.

No matter the outcome Arab states will somehow blame the US. So they need to assume complete responsibility for Syria. International action shouldn't even be considered if the Arab countries in the region can't whip the support for their own vested interest.

It's a no-win situation in 1400 year war. The US needs to stay out of this.
