Good for Joe Biden. I hope he will persist and with many other Democrats and progressives, will challenge Hillary Clinton in 2016Z!

In recent days, it is enormously encouraging that there is at least a prospect of a PEACEFUL diplomatic solution to contain and hopefully remove, Syria's capacity to use chemical weapons. Miles of negotiations and implementation to go, but a military strike has been avoided.

Those eager to criticize the Obama administration simply for BEING, the militarists and corporatists EAGER for war profits, and the media salivating for war to fuel its desperate need for crisis, sensationalism and controversy to fuel its 24-7 news cycle are heaping criticism and ridicule on the process. They do not want it to succeed and desperately want a military strike.

We are fortunate that President Obama and Secretary Kerry have managed to move into peaceful negotiations BECAUSE of a viable threat of military force without having to USE military force. We are also fortunate that the Clintons, Bushes or McCain are not calling the shots or the missile strikes would be underway and Russia and Iran would be scrambling to bolster the capacity of Syria to respond militarily.

Those who want peaceful means to prevail must be cautious but encouraged by the progress, fragile and uncertain as it may be.

They just want regime change. But the lesser of the two evils is not al-Assad.

If they wanted regime change it would be changed.  It didn't work for the warmongers in Afghanistan, Iraq or Libya, not likely to improve Syria either.

Could Biden run to the Left of Hilary or is he just as Blue Dog of a Democrat as she is?
I think he would end up being another Democrat President that the Political Center would still move to the Right as has during Clinton and Obama?

Open for thoughts from Liberals.

Biden is just as much of a protofascist neocon as Obama, Hillary and Bush.

Wow, really? If I don't understand something, I immediately look it up. They're not, but the Tea Party is pretty close. Sadly, the Democrat party started shifting right during the Reagan years, but not that far right. The Dems are probably no farther left than what would be known in a more normal time as a "West Coast, Republican," or a "Reagan Democrat," if you will.

By this time next year Democratic congressional candidates will be asking Biden and Obama not to campaign for them. The current Obama flip-flop on foreign policy and betrayal of his union supporters can only hurt Democrats in 2014. Look for Republicans to gain seats in both houses. We're not talking about Democratic apathy here, we're looking at working class antipathy to the Obama-Biden administration.

Right, because every one knows how labor friendly the Republican's are. Its way too early to call specifics, but statistics have been showing a definite movement to the left, as is usually the case in bad economic times. I agree with the working class disappointment at Obama-Biden administration, but thanks to the politics of obstruction on the part of the Tea Partiers with backing from the old guard Republicans,

Many working class Democrats see Biden as "one of their own," and while he might have trouble with the more high brow crowd, the working class will blame congress and Obama for the mess because every one knows that the vice president merely backs up the president and does what he's told.

The "where will union voter's go?" question is what Democrat corporatists always depend on, but voter/activists who've so recently been betrayed most likely just stay home and, most especially, do not volunteer. Now, Tom Harkin, who Biden was campaigning for is definitely "one of our own".  Biden...not that I'm aware of.  Just where is Delaware, anyway?  But, we'll see in a year or so.

Assad is a toothless poodle. He is a never was. I also think that he should remain in power as he is the best chance to keep syria stable and is by far better than the al queda leadership sure to follow like in lybia and iraq well in afganistan also. we as a nation can't throw people out of power and put someone in power that the nation hates that is why we are in the position we are in now, HATED BY THE WORLD.

Iraq war may be gone but we still have boots on the ground. Afghanistan may be schedule to end in 2014 but there will still be boots on the ground.

So what have we accomplished?

Americans out of work or losing their job. - Progressing at a fast rate.
Americans benefits - Shrinking at a fast rate
Education for our kids - Shrinking at a fast rate.

While I think the world of Uncle Joe, to be precise, Ryan made & makes Ryan look mentally challenged. Vice-President Biden merely provided stark contrast as the man the majority of Americans preferred as Vice-President and were happy to re-elect.

I do respect his courage for going out amongst the people and defending the unpopular decisions the administration supposedly made on Syria. Contrast that with baggers who only go where hand-picked audiences await them that are guaranteed to only lob softballs at them.

why would biden have a hard time? they used democracy and prevented an air strike.
this administration took every thing into consideration . We democrats don't want war. none of us do. I personally was fely that an air strike was something that had to be done if Syria used these wmds . But not because I like war. but that doesn't mean that my fellow democrats were wrong. It just means that we democrats think for our selves and then move on.
If Syria breaks this deal I am the first to say bomb their ases.

Biden is the best strategy that the GOP has for 2014 and 2016. If only Obama would release Biden more often the 2014 election would be a shoo-in. I wonder if Democrats disagree with Obama are they also racists? Is it possible that when Democrats disagree with Obama it's because Obama is Black? That is what the Media and Obama says Republicans are if they disagree with Obama. Just wondering.

Biden is one of the democrats that works very hard to elect Republicans because he does not consider unintended consequences and books a major losing campaign.

why they didn't let Biden talk with Putin:
Vice President Joe Biden on Thursday referred to House Republicans as the “Neanderthal crowd” for holding up reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, according to a White House pool report.
Biden was also amused by the idea that some Democrat amendments to the bill may be “unconstitutional,” according to the report.
?can you believe the Vice President of the United States says things like this??
