That's nothing in the US it's probably like 50 people that sit with 70% of the countries wealth.. Wealth inequality in the States is much worse then in Russia. Wonder why they don't mention that in this article. Russia is "one of" we are nr 1..

Instead of doing random speculation and being sure that the US is first:

"Russia has the highest level of wealth inequality in the world, apart from small Caribbean nations with resident billionaires," the bank said in the report. Credit Suisse

It used to be that everyone was equal in Russia, today it is still the same just some are more equal than others.

Looks it time for a new Russian revolution.
07:18 PM on 10/10/2013
Well it's the good thing is that it's just 100 people against millions, it's shouldn't be hard to even the score with just 100 people to deal with.
What's the problem?

What are we whining about?

They are there because the masses agree with their supremacy.

How many of these people also are a part of the American 1%. The wealthy are now international. I can't imagine that theses individuals are isolated to Russia.

I'd rather live in a world where everybody has a bowl of rice, than a world where a few eat steaks and everybody else has a bowl of rice. That's why I am a liberal, progressive, occupy-Wall-Street Democrat.

A agree--to a point. In your system, there is no incentive to work harder or venture out and create new items and ideas. In my perfect world, I would not care if some people drove BMWs if they were smarter or worked harder. However, If some people have BMWs, I want ALL other people to at least have a fair opportunity to own a new Chevy once every five or six years, instead of walking through life BAREFOOT. That is the kind of inequality this nation is headed for; And with that--can total revolution be far behind?

Nope, it is really fast. The rich already p!$$ on them and have done so since the US supported Jeltzin to get rid of the much too people friendly Gorbatchev.

Fast, eh? 110 down, 50 million to go. At this rate, the universe will end before Russian people see fair income equality.

Right and we won't talk about the U.S. and Western world where 600 families have a significantly larger chunk than that.

Note for moderators:
Really sad that Arianna bowed down to them as HP is now owned indirectly by the Time Warner conglomerate and can't truly can't be a true news service anymore. Although I can't really blame her since she didn't want to follow in Martha Stewart's foot steps and get slammed for just being a successful woman.

She happily walked away singing with her 300 million dollars. Remember the Bush tax rates were still in force when she did that, so she kept much more for herself.

I'm a little surprised that the number is over 100. The rape of Russia after the collapse of the Soviet system did that country few favors. Will this be the new royalty in a return to "Imperial Russia", or is there a possibility for reforms that will bring a broader prosperity to her people?

Russia and the USA are just the same. An ogilarchy ran by a plutacracy, just without the titles. Democracy is just an illusion.

" ... rape of Russia after the collapse of the Soviet system ..."

You can thank Bush the Senior and the Chicago School of Economics for that one.

What the Soviets should have done was to turn every industrial plant and business over to those who worked in them to run. In short, the workers "own" their facilities but operate according to capitalistic principles.

It's akin to owning your own home versus going to someone else's and being paid to maintain that one.

The Russians have a saying "If you don't take risk, you don't drink champagne".
Non of these super rich became wealthy by following the rules.
Is it different here?
