Grown ups tell their childern "No" because their wants exceed their needs, and dad's wallet.

They keep telling us that the insurance companies do not want this bill ,,, but tell me WHY>>

If they did not want their bill passed they would be running ads 24/7 attacking it..

What would they not like about having 20 or 40 million new more policy holders , less test , higher premiums and still can exclude some people... The government (with our money) will supply them with a data base of all our medical records so they can determind what price to charge us.. free of charge...

It is a win win.. They have "us" picking up the tab for the people which when they become citizens will be given free or subsidized health care... by higher premiums and taxing us..

Obama , Emanuel and the leaders did not meet behind closed doors with the health , drug and other medical advisors for an honest and open debate... At the first meeting they laughed and had the police threw the citizens which came asking for a single tax payer or public option..

This shows from the very start behind closed door deals were already made and they wanted no honest and above board decision about competition for the health companies and any control over the prices which these drug companies charge for their products..

Who knows if they like the bill or not. I'm not out to sock it to the health insurance industry. I'm out to make them behave and deliver health care like they're supposed to. Heck, we live in a capitalist society. So what if we keep the system private as long as they fulfill the mandate to insure people, pay for their health care, and do what is honorable.

Right now, they're like loose cowboys who are not held accountable for doing anything and are abusing the public. It has to stop. This healthcare plan is step #1. It needs to pass.

This Plan is just what the insurance Corps want... A law forcing people to buy their crappy product...
07:27 PM on 03/16/2010
Americans do not reward failure and the Democrats have to pass healthcare to prove they are capable of governing. When the opposing party starts warning you that if you pass legislation you will be slaughtered in the next election, rational people should know that their own polling indicates just the opposite. Suddenly, they will be in the failure column. It is their backers who will blame them if healthcare passes.

You're absolutely correct. If the Repubs REALLY believed that passing Health Care would damage the Dems in November, they would be all too happy to let the Dems pass it without obstruction!

No, the Repubs are scared to death of defeat in November. They know that people out there want health care reform and they are so desperate that they are creating some of the most creative tactics imaginable to try to gain back power. Demons in Congress? Obama's birth records? Death panels? This is just a FEW of the outlandish strategies the Repubs are using to scare the Sheeple of the USA. Say goodbye, GOP...... November is going to get here faster than you expect!

Right on point. The GOP has already put fear in the heart of non-informed citizens, now they're beating the drums of fear to the media constantly. The GOP has been hypocritical about everything from reconciliation, referring to it as the "nuclear option," portraying the Dems as using rules and procedures that they were all for when they were in control. Rational people will hopefully see through the smoke and mirrors (and demons!).

As much as I dislike Obama , Emanuel and the democrats corporate republican policies they are trying to ram down our throats,,,, These so called republicans have a lot of nerve to attack after 8 years of sleep and silence about their criminal friends which just left office....

They have been asleep for 8 years while Bush / Cheney and the republicans sold US out to the highest bidder.. They outsourced over 8 million American jobs to foreign countries to destroy any and all control unions and the workers of this country had...
They let the federal treasury GIVE these banking monopolies over 10 trillion dollars. They transferred to the top Five percent of wealthy and corporate Americans our wealth & power while destroying our constitution , bill of rights , democracy while destroying our democracy..

They left American citizens with unbelieveable debt to China and other countries which where caused by their illegal war in the middle east ,, no bid contractsto their war contractor friends.. Replaced our military with their private conservative mercenary army with 8 times the pay as our soldiers...

Now they wake up & attack Obama and the democrats for it.. Obama , Emanuel and the democrats have protected them from their criminal crimes which gave them a platform to preach from.. Rove , Bush , Cheney , Rumsfeld and other criminals be it republicans or democrats should not be walking the streets...But paying for their crimes..
07:30 PM on 03/16/2010
"They outsourced over 8 million American jobs to foreign countries to destroy any and all control unions and the workers of this country had..."

I know "it's Bushs fault" is a popular rant, but it was your unions that forces jobs out of the country. Ask your brothers in the auto and steel industry for starters.

Government unions need to be made illegal. There is no way that a worker should be allowed to vote for "management" at the cost of the tax payer.
07:54 PM on 03/16/2010
Republicans look in a mirror and put the face of a democrat on their crimes..

Bush and Cheney administration the most criminal and destructive to our citizens and country in our history..

But of course the republicans go to sleep while their elected officials do their hatchet jobs on our citizens and country ,,, but when the s... hits the fan they wake up and say it was a democrat...

Obama's biggest mistake was not prosecuting the Bush administration for their criminal crimes , teason , lies to start an illegal war , transferring our wealth to his friends and family
08:32 PM on 03/16/2010
It is not just the union jobs that were outsourced. It has been IT jobs outsourced to India. Manufacturing jobs outsourced to China. And remember the line that Bush used to say - 'The illegals are doing jobs that American's won't do'? All for the bottomline for the company and the gigantic bonuses for the people who get rid of US jobs so that they can pay nothing for it overseas! Not just Bush's fault, no -- but at least admit that corporations and politicians, for the sake of capitalism, have gotten our country into a mess!

Sorry pete, Democrats havebeen in control of the purse strings since 2007. As everyone should know but most of you Libs don't, is that Congress spends the money. Congress decides who gets what and how much. Liberals think the President spends the money. The president can't spend one thin dime. Liberals Blame Bush for bad laws that their party creates when they have that power. Maybe one day Liberals will go back to school and learn how the 3 branches of government works.

I got news for you, he ath. There are a LOT more Rethugs who don't know the constitution than Dems. Look at the tea.b aggers.

Who has the rep utation for not wanting people ed ucated? Here's a flash. It's the Rethugs, not the Dems. Who wants to get rid of public schools? Who wants home schooling by unqual ified people instead? What party con demns intel.lectuals? What party con demns universities? What party runs candidates like Sarah P alin who had trouble making it through college?

Hey, he ath. It's the Rethugs.

Its in the bible guys

Deut. 15:10. You shall give generously to [your poor brother], and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him, because for this thing the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in all your undertakings.

Prov. 19:17. He who is gracious to a poor man lends to the LORD, and He will repay him for his good deed.

I dont think Democrats understand what is at risk if this thing fails. If this bill fails, Dems will NEVER be able to campaign with the talking point of health care reform. That is because voters will never forget that in 09-10, Dems had SUPER LARGE majorities, and still failed to pass reform.

If reform passes, Dems can always campaign on making the current system better.

If reform fails, I hope to see every single NO-vote Dem ousted in a primary. And if they arent sent packing then, I hope Republicans beat the crap out of them in November. We have come to far.

I doubt that. Obama could scrap this 2,000 page Obamacare bill that he worked out in secret with industry lobbyists and support Alan Grayson's much more effective 4 page Medicare expansion for everyone bill.

Of course, he won't do that until he's backed into a corner though, because he really wants to live up to his deal that increases insurance company profits through the roof.

I went to an OFA meeting last week, and when the host finally got done with his presentation, several there said in effect that the organizational structure (for the midterms) he outlined was nice, but when they try to phone bank, the interest is no longer there - either to get others to help, or to listen to what they have to say when they call people.

Almost everyone nodded in agreement when I chimed in, saying the President and the Democratic leadership haven't given us much to be excited about! I listed issues/legislation where the Democratic Party has caved - after giving up half the store (i.e. single payer being off the table from day one of the health care reform process) even before the GOP went to work calling them names! I told him then and after the meeting broke up that he and others like him needed to be reporting back UP the chain how the grassroots feels betrayed. The grassroots uprising that propelled the President into Office, and got such large majorities in both Houses of Congress needs to be listened to. We didn't believe it would be easy, or right away, but we DID believe that the administration would fight & fight HARD for the things we all talked about during the campaign.

I finished with the notion that sometimes you have to realize you're in a barfight, and to start throwing punches back. It's way past time the President "went Chicago" on the GOP.

We don't really care about the .org groups. The best thing about us cons is we have the ability to set our differences aside for long enough to focus on making libs lose elections.

The last few years we didn't have a snowballs chance in h3//. I know this, you know this, most every American know this. The times have changed however. There is a lot of discontent for all the people in Washington right now, but no one is taking the heat quite as bad as the dems. It will be an interesting election this Nov.
