Until we know the equal we'll never feel the free.

Christianity is not my relgion thus the ten comandments do not apply to me.

There, I reflected.

Indeed.

Only 6 of the commandments actually have anything to do with behavior, almost all of which are present in almost every historical and modern society as a means of preventing social collapse.

The other 4 are the narcissistic, me me me imperatives of an insecure desert sky god which we more expect to come from the mouth of a 9 year old kid than an omnipotent, omnipresent deity.

JDuck and I got our reflecting done early.

I'm all for it if it coincides with Code of Hammurabi week (there are over 200 laws... so that would take more than a weekend to cover it all) and Kilt Day for Fridays once a month.

When one is ineffective as a politician, proclaim a weekend of some sort. This will add to a list of accomplishments for next elections voters to see. But, the point the author seems to be making is that this is the secular legal branch of government endorsing a Judeo-Christian religious concept. That does appear to be the case.

The first weekend in May is already designated as "Kentucky Derby Weekend".

The last thing the folks attending the Kentucky Derby Weekend will be thinking about is the 10 Commandments :)
