Gross.

I'd be more impressed if he met with Jack Sparrow, or Big Bird, or some other colorful character derived from a fictional source. Only you know, not evil.

Although Mr. Graham is far from the worst evangelist out there, he was ever ready to put the Christian stamp of approval on any war the US military dreamed up. I guess he felt it was okay to ignore that pesky, 'Thou Shall Not Kill,' God's commandment thingy. As I have maintained for many years, you can be spiritual, or you can be political, but you can't be both. There are far too many compromises that have to be made while functioning within the political spectrum of a country as diverse and powerful as the USA.

PART IV

Billy's son Rev. Ned Graham was an adulterer, alcoholic, wife abuser, and drug user to such a degree his ministerial credentials were revoked by the Baptists. The Southern Baptist Convention directed Ned Graham to stop using the title "Reverend."

An affiliated Baptist Foundation of Arizona took in a total of $590 million, using a maze of shell corporations in a Ponzi scheme. To this day, no one knows where that $590 million went. After the 1992 expose, it was shut down.

To this day, no one knows where all of the assets of Billy Graham's church are located, and exactly how much money they have.

If you are a long-time giver to Billy Graham, and you become sick and needy, they will not give you one thin dime. As they say, "It's not how we do business."

Billy's son Rev. Franklin Graham was early-on reported to be a drug and alcohol abuser, shirt chaser, and somewhat of a partying playboy with a rather sizeable salary from the church. In 1992 his blatant conduct caused a scandal when the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability took him to task for his non-deserving salary and use of the corporate plane for party trips with his girl friends. Franklin's conduct was also connected to the Council's investigation of the money-begging program known as "Samaritan's Purse." For interesting comments on Franklin Graham, see the following link.

Back in the 1970s, Billy Graham was begging and pleading for his followers to give more money to him. He implied his church was on the throes of bankruptcy. The Charlotte Observer newspaper discovered an undisclosed Billy Graham $23-million fund down in Texas, far from Graham's North Carolina home, and his Minneapolis, Minnesota headquarters of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Graham did a lot of fast tap dancing for damage control on that little scam. It's sort of like the classic "good bank-bad bank" scheme. You transfer all of your funds to a bank in Texas, and then go to your faithful and show them your North Carolina bank statement, which is almost empty.

PART I

At the outset, let me state my opinion that Billy Graham is a piece of sad muck and mire sliding out of this world from his carefully manufactured corporation based on biblical and monetary fraud and deceit.

Atheist writer Christopher Hitchens once described Graham as "a power-worshiping bigot who made a living by 'going around spouting lies to young people.'" Hitchen' also called Graham "a disgustingly evil man."

My post-Judeo-Christian heritage series

From The "Father of the Constitution," James Madison

"WHAT INFLUENCE, IN FACT, HAVE ECCLESIASTICAL ESTABLISHMENTS HAD ON SOCIETY?

IN SOME INSTANCES THEY HAVE BEEN SEEN TO ERECT A SPIRITUAL TYRANNY ON THE RUINS OF THE CIVIL AUTHORITY; ON MANY INSTANCES THEY HAVE BEEN SEEN UPHOLDING THE THRONES OF POLITICAL TYRANNY; IN NO INSTANCE HAVE THEY BEEN THE GUARDIANS OF THE LIBERTIES OF THE PEOPLE.
RULERS WHO WISH TO SUBVERT THE PUBLIC LIBERTY MAY HAVE FOUND AN ESTABLISHED CLERGY CONVENIENT AUXILIARIES.

A JUST GOVERNMENT, INSTITUTED TO SECURE AND PERPETUATE IT, NEEDS THEM NOT."

The whole separation of Church and State is only a show with bad manuscript.

How does Obama really feel to pretend to be Zionist loving evangelists, while every single problem he is facing is manufactured by these two religious groups.

Does he have a single bone of decency in his body?

Does presidency really worth so much?

Is there any other extrimist a.. he has not kissed?

Dear kattyM

Thanks for your heartfelt comment.

Why do you Full-of-Faith people miss Born-again, Bible-belt Bush so much?

What good do you consider he did for our country? For the Middle East? For the world?

Did you ever witness George Bush or the Republican party withstand pressure from these politically powerful groups you mentioned?

When?

THE TRINITARIAN BELIEVES A VIRGIN TO BE THE MOTHER OF A SON WHO IS HER MAKER.
Sir Francis Bacon 1561-1626

Francis Bacon, 1st and Only Viscount of St. Alban, KC (22 January 1561 – 9 April 1626) was an English philosopher, statesman, scientist, lawyer, jurist and author. He served both as Attorney General and Lord Chancellor of England. Although his political career ended in disgrace, he remained extremely influential through his works, especially as philosophical advocate and practitioner of the scientific revolution. His dedication brought him into a rare historical group of scientists who were killed by their own experiments.

Being a person who thinks President Obama is a good president doesn't mean they can't be religious. I am a Christian who thinks that he is a good president and I just got an e-mail telling me that President Obama stopped Franklin Graham from attending the Pentagon Prayer. I don't believe that nor do I believe that a person has to be religious in anyway to be president. This country was founded on religious freedom and that means that you can worship or not worship as you choose. Please don't belittle those of us of faith because faith is just that not something that can be forced on someone. I believe that because of my faith that I support President Obama.

I hope the President's meeting with Graham is purely political. If it was for religious reasons then his father was a hell of a lot smarter than he is. I believe that his mother was agnostic as well.

I can't understand why our president must bend over backwards to satisfy the right wingnuts. Whatever happened to the separation of church and state? Only in recent times has there been this concentrated effort to proclaim one's religious proclivity. Does that have a bearing on the affairs of state? I fervently hope not. I would feel much better if decisions were based on reason and logic and informed opinions, rather than supplication to an invisible sky daddy. I think all, religions should be kept private and out of the running of our government entirely.

Why should it matter what religion one follows, if they're running for a position that should encompass all of the people, including atheists ans agnostics? They are not supposed to be using their religion to legislate, yet they want to impose their religious views on all the citizenry.

This has become a competitive sport, in a way. Which politician is the most "pious"? Considering the more recent developments of infidelities, ethics failures, just plain out and out liars, one would have to wonder. How sincere, really, is this new found piety, anyway? At least as practiced by some; and we all know who they are. Do they think they're fooling us all? Some of us cannot be hoodwinked by their posturing. Unfortunately, too many can be blindsided by the mere mention of God or religious statements.

Agree. It's gone wild since Reagan. Rove brewed it like moonshine. College and NFL players doing it too.

All turn out to be either hypocritse or criminals.

Of all the well-known evangelists, Billy Graham is the least-crazy. I believe that he is a sincere person doing what he believes to be god's work. But from Obama's standpoint, I do not understand why he has to involve an imaginary god in order to be a good president. ALL presidents do this. They have to make a show of being "christian" in order to prove that...what??? That they have good character? That they will make wise decisions? I would much rather have a leader who relied on good advice, experience, and wisdom rather than "faith", which can have disastrous consequences.
