This is not over! We need to nail them down now. No passes. We must hold BP, Transocean and Halliburton totally responsible with no limits. www.youtube.com/watch?v=uG8JHSAVYT0

Totally unacceptable. It's like me writing something up that if I cause catastrophic mayhem you can only take a tiny, little percent of what I have.

Pigs should be held responsible for at least 1/3 of the damages.

100% of the damages. Why let these people off the hook?

They destroyed the Gulf of Mexico, the marine animals in it, the wildlife that live beside it, the livelihoods of the fishermen, tourist trade, coastlines, the coastal town, the value of the homes of the residents who live there who are now breathing petroleum in the wind and stepping on globs of tar on the beaches...

This is a horrific environmental catastrophe and Transocean, BP & Halliburton should pay every single cent of the clean-up. We, the taxpayers, should not pay a nickel.

What these corporate crooks have done is so devastating there is no comparison in our environmental history for what they have destroyed. It will take centuries for the Gulf to recover. It would only be justice if these corporations lost their businesses permanently.

I'm sure this will also have an affect on everyone's health in this country. You are right it is beyond devasting. Most Americans feel violated by British Petroleum.

I was thinkin 1/3 to BP, 1/3 to Haliburton and 1/3 to Transocean, Im sure theres enough to go around, but they must be held accountable for future problems, at least 25 years in the future, Prince William Sound is still filthy 21 years later.

Nationalize them, liquidate and use the proceeds for financial restitution for all those lives/towns who they destroyed by their greedy Blunder. Well was 4000 feet deeper than permitted.

Transocean, BP and Halliburton are beneath contempt: crooks, thieves, conscience-less pigs.

They are going to have to pay out billions to make this catastrophic environmental disaster right, which will never make it right in any event. What price the Gulf of Mexico?

How can we put a price on the damage they have done to our health and environment? and the loss to future generations?

You're absolutely right! Especially when you consider that many of the spills effects cannot be immediately determined. That's probably why TransOcean is looking to secure it's own financial future by securing a min.pay out. Otherwise they could very well be in court for years to come.

They know the ramifications and they're only protecting themselves financially. They do not care about the environment, people, or losses , except their own financial losses. Now that Corp.'s have the same rights as human beings, I say lets look for the largest prison and place the entire company in it.:-)

If the law is meant to protect American Vessels from Foreign Flagged Ships how would this help Transocean? Rachael Maddow ran a story that indicated this rig was flagged in the Marshall Islands...I believe that makes it a Foreign Flagged Vessel..
