No doubt. The story of some nut shooting up the church is right around the corner. If you are armed with the strength of the Lord you would trust that a weapon in His house would not be needed. That really seems to be a lack of faith to me. Even in Iraq and Afghanistan they don't carry weapons inside a house of worship and the possibilty of being hurt in a Mosque in one of those areas is almost imminent. Oh yea of little faith.

Their churches are full of fornicators, remarried divorcees, drunks and pregnant teenagers, and they're worried about some evil Satan-driven person running in during a church service and shooting at them.

I say that Satan is already working in their midst.

There is no mention of guns in church in the bible because there WERE no guns during the time the bible was written or translated - I don't think there was mention of rocks in church either, concealed or not.

There sure made use of them outside though, didn't they.

Literal word of the bible my eye...

This is certainly one of the times when the Bible just really can't be trotted out, for or against. Guns were obviously not an issue about which Jesus expressed an opinion. It is so fortunate that the state legislators, nonetheless, are quite sure He approves.

Swords in the Temple?

How 'bout

Matthew 5:39
But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.

Thou shall not kill....unless thy rural legislature sanctions.

yes Yes bring in your idols, you worship to praise God. Guns? in church?. Man has lost their common sense. Tell republican Wooten Jesus came and said I will destroy this temple in 3 days and did so and I think 2 times again it fell after that. Tell him also to read the book of revelations, what God says to the 7 churches at the time on earth, not pleased with any of them, and told to change or else. Church is not a building, it is us who believe.

Jesus said my Fathers house is a house of prayer not a den of thieves. First time Jesus got angry plus destroyed the idols materialism on the temple porch tables.

God is not going to ask anyone on judgment day. Where is your gun? Where is your flag pin? Where is your gold? Where is your flag? Already told what God is going to ask us.

How much do you love me?
When I was hungry, did you give me food?
When I was thirsty, did you give me drink?
When I was sick, did you care for me?
When I was lonely, did you comfort me?
When I was in prison, did you come to visit me?
When I had no place to lay my head, did you take me in?
But we called you Lord Lord Lord, get away from me,I never knew you.
But I brought my gun to church, my idol that I worship? fools

"I want to see in the Bible where it says you can't bring a gun to church," added state Rep. Ernest Wooten, a Republican.

This just made my day.

"I want to see in the Bible where it says you can't bring a gun to church," added state Rep. Ernest Wooten, a Republican.

Wow - Wooten better be careful. He may have accidentally just made a case for the bible being out-of date and irrelevant in matters of 21st century policy-making. Unfortunately, he and his conservo-christian supporters probably wounldn't understand this line of reasoning.

I think the Bible limits people to carrying stones. I do not think it mentions concealment.

No guns, just stones? Then "rock on."
