For that kind of money they would never have to work again for the rest of their life. Yet they bitch left and right about their bonuses. Come live my life, and when you can't pay a 300 dollar bill then come bitch to me about how you need money.

I bet if we took 1 million from every person in the states that makes 50 million a year, we wouldn't have such a deficit. But good luck prying that out of their cold living hands.

No the super rich are already screaming about their all their tax breaks being repealed, when taxes for the entire country haven't been this low since the 50's!

par for the course these days. i wonder if the public was inundated with of how employees "bilked the system" with stories about how a few workers "...used too much overtime..." or "... their benefits package was too costly..." meanwhile the people who've been "mining the ship"continued to get a pass.

They could really get a couple of decent editors and proofreaders for much less while improving the product enormously.

I'm twenty-two years old, and I believe I will live to see the day that the job of corporate executive will be replaced by computer. The 'credentials' required to be an executive are already obsolete!

The trends point the other way. In a few decades there will only be executives and all other jobs will be at Retail Stores or Restaurants. The trends say Executives are claiming more and more of the income at businesses over the last few decades.

What you really mean to say is that the bosses gave these bonuses to themselves which, in effect, is looting the company.

I didn't know that you earned a bonus for bankrupting your company. Silly me. I always thought that you earned a bonus, which is compensation over and above your salary, for doing something exceedingly well. The only thing these clowns did well was bankrupting their company and looting its treasury.

The shareholders need to bring shareholder derivative law suits and sue these people to recoup their company's money.

Of course, it makes sense ... they did all the work. And they are so much above all the others who worked for the company. What a crock!

How can they possibly be bankrupt if they have 15 million to throw away? How can a court allow this?

They must have a new definition of bankruptcy, we should all be able to use it and shed all creditors and not lose a dime.

Sam Zell bought the Trib, ransacked it and its pension funds - leaving it broke and worthless. Now he is still eating at the trough, under court order. He needs to be sued for every penny he has for what may be one of the largest robberies of all time.

You have to wonder how he and others sleep at night. I can't imagine feeling so entitled to people's pensions & livelihoods, all under the guise of ''it's business, it's not personal''.

Nope. The Chicago Tribune IS Chicago-lands most Right wing, Goroge Bush loveing news paper. But if you are comfortable calling it a “gangsta” paper? Be my guest.

I didn`t mean the Paper itself....more like the business mind-set.
