This family is disgusting, dont tell me they didnt know this was going on. They saw it everyday, and to allow a pathetic excuse for a human to abuse their animals (Gary Conklin himself abused them) is absolutely intolerable. Thank heavens someone had the guts to go in there and film it, as hard as it is to watch Im glad we know who the trash is. Put the whole family and all the workers in jail, shut them down. If they didnt participate in the abuse, they still knew it was going on and were complicit and let it happen.

Please learn more about the Humane Farming Association at http://www.hfa.org/about/index.html and support this organization. This behavior will stop only when factory farms become illegal.

What this man did is no worse than the "legal" cruelties we inflict on animals every single day in the name of cheap meat, egg and dairy products. Even on so-called "humane" farms where it is perfectly legal to grind male chicks alive and to kill tiny newborn calves or sell them as veal. People like to point fingers and say, "Oh - hey - he's the bad guy, just lock him up and it will be fine." No, it won't be fine. The only way to stop this sort of abuse is for consumers to stop buying animal products. Until then, we can't really blame workers for acting like the desensitized, violent, monsters we pay them to become.
Humane slaughter is an oxymoron.

Your link didn't work for me, *clark4210*. I posted a link to the same organization on another thread on this subject.

Everyone who cares about this barbaric, heartbreaking abuse, please Google The Humane Farming Association. It doesn't offer perfect solutions, but since relatively few people are going vegan any time soon, it's a very good and realistic start.

PUT THEM OUT OF BUSINESS. FORBID THEM TO OWN ANY ANIMAL FOREVER. THEY CAN'T BE TRUSTED WITH ANIMALS. INVESTIGATE THEM AND SEE HOW THEY TREAT THEIR CHILDREN. I FEAR FOR THEM AS WELL.
SHOW THEM NO MERCY, NO COMPASSION. THEY SHOWED NONE, SHOW THEM NONE.

This psychotic idiot seems to enjoy a great deal of pleasure from inflicting harm and deep pain on defenseless animals while anyone watching it had an intense feeeling to do the same to him.

Thank you Jamie and Chris... much love to you for your seva.

Thank you Jamie, for expressing the compassion towards these men, that one hopes they could learn as well as you yourself know and live.

Learning won't be so easy for them, as they were never shown this during their formative years their egos are filled with rages that burst out upon those they feel cannot fight back.

The video depicted them walking their true talk, and it is difficult for most to watch even as we witness them thinking it is the right way to be in the highest order. This negative behavior has been strongly, maybe even generationally reinforced. They have a lot to let go of.

Will getting caught and sanctioned be enough to change their hearts? What will reach them so that they reconsider their lives?

They can only become better men, if that is what they want to become. There is not much room left to fail any more greatly.

I watched the first five seconds of this video last night and had to stop it. How anyone could be so cruel to defenseless animals is beyond me. It made my stomach turn and my heart ache. I hope this "man" is brought to justice.

I, like Jaime Lee and her husband, could only watch a portion of this before I was overcome and had to turn it off. This is in the same category of human behavior, like littering, that I don't understand. We all live on the same planet. We are charged with its care, and the creatures that live on this planet with us fall under that care. I don't understand how men (mankind) could find a place within themselves allowing this degraded behavior>

They do this to animals because they can't get away with doing this to a human being. These people are sub-human sociopaths.

Exactly, can you imagine if this guy has kids of his own? OMG!!!

Its pathetic that little groups like Mercy for Animals have to dedicate themselves and take their fight to the legal system to expose such horrors. Why doesn't our government oversee and regulate these farms more? Do you really think the people who treated these defenseless animals like that care about the quality of food coming from that farm? The answer is no - they are sociopaths who take pleasure in seeing how far they can go with cruelty without getting caught. If you support factory farming you support a system where this happens. In fact "animal cruelty" charges aside - factory farming as it is practiced is cruel. If it wasn't - these farms would have an open door policy so we could see how they operate.
10:48 AM on 05/27/2010
While the government could do a better job of inspecting, that is another part of the puzzle. These abusive farmhands are cowards. They would never act like this in front of anyone who would not abide it. Do you actually think that Cowards like this would even consider an open door policy? Please, lets not be naive.

Mercy for Animals is not pathetic, they are supremely brave to go forth, perhaps even risking harm to expose cowards like these. Cowards and Bullies deserve to be stopped, these animals deserve the same respect you would want for yourself.

Perhaps, for these Holsteins, it is a new beginning, a happier life if that is possible. Perhaps even more cowards out there are put on notice.

hasheville didn't call the animal rights group pathetic, but rather stated it IS pathetic that there's such a need for animals rights activist groups. I tend to agree.. this film doesn't say much good about the human species, but it clearly points out that cows are sentient and can definitely feel pain.
