Spitzer is going to be great - he would have been a pres contender if he could have kept it in his pants. Doesn;t mean I agree with everything just that he has a brain - something that is instantly noticed when you think about Obama, Bush, Beck, Limbaugh - mainly because they don;t. whether he will stick his neck out and deliver an honest perspective like he did on Comedy Central don;t know but CNN could sure use him. two thumbs up

Spitzer is an emotionally, unstable empty suit like John Edwards. His daddy just happed to have made a lot of money.

So Eliots Sptizer shouldn't get a job at CNN, but David Vitter, who is a sitting Congresman running for re-election and was caught donig the same thing. Issued a mia culpa with his wife not only didn't resign but is running for re-election. Can you smell the hypocrisy?
05:15 PM on 06/28/2010
As a suedo journalist, honestly and trustworthiness is key for
your audience to actually believe what you say, Spitzer has NO credibilty;.
That dog Vitter is only answerable to the backward teabagging residents of his state
It is still not ok, but there is a difference here,

Since when are people supposed to trust a journalist, especially in the day and age of faux news, all lies all the time more than they should trust a sitting congressman. You're right there is a difference, the member of congress should be held to a higher standard than some teevee blowhard.

he won't be acting a a journalist, but an analyst and host.

still not too keen on him getting the gig, and his prostitution past has nothing to do with it. but it gets tiring seeing people just getting shows because of their name.

Isn't it more an issue of trust for both? Once you've been proven a liar it seems to me that everything you say afterword is subject to extra scrutiny. After all, you've already shown us that your motives are self-serving.

It actually makes some kind of twisted sense that CNN
would hire spitzer, the john to host its show because
that just added lara logan, the ho as a correspondent.
They fit together.

Everytime I see this man's face on tv I can't help but see a man whoring in pricey hotels while his
poor wife tends to the family and home. We can forgive him his failings but we do not need to see him
gain a good position in a cable channel as if he were Mr. Clean. And to think he was once the governor of New York and had to leave in shame. Mr. Sptizer should just stay out of the limelight.

"had acknowedged mistakes, had apologized for them.............."

So the CNN prez believes that corrupt, systemic behavoir is enough to give the disgraced Spitzer a prime time show. Glad he cleared that up for us.

Nahhhh, he did not clear anything up except du mb decisions like the above explain why CNN is going down the tubes. Spitzer's hypocricy is uppermost in mind for prosecuting prostitution while a habitual "john" himself.
08:08 PM on 06/28/2010
Fanned. Like pretending to be the "sheriff of wall street" taking down the little fish so that the big fish got bigger. Spitzer was AG while every bit of the corruption on Wall Street was hitting its peak including Madoff.
04:30 PM on 06/28/2010
Ashley Dupre gets a column for the NY Post, now Eliot Spitzer gets his own television show. It looks like they both did all right for themselves. Nice rewards for bad behavior.

I think this is great finaly someone who knows were all the bodies are buried on Wall Street.

I am just upset that Obama did not have the backbone to make Spitzer Czar over Wall Street.

Stop lying, Klein. Your network most certainly DOES push a right-wing viewpoint, and you know it.

Right Wing, huh? Why has it been known as the Clinton News Network?
05:11 PM on 06/28/2010
because peabaggers like to lie and deceive

The far right sees anybody who's not equally far right as "liberal." Clinton was no liberal and neither is CNN.

Nope, Lara Logan, the ho was hired as a correspondent.,

Now spitzer does not have to leave the set.
03:41 PM on 06/28/2010
I'd take Sptizer over Lou Klux Dobbs any day. Funny how righties take the moral high road on infidelity but seem just fine with racebaiting. Especially when you have the whole package in people like Huggies Vitter.

Add David Diaper Vitter who did the same thing as Spitzer, only he wasn't forced to resign. He had no consequence. He is now running for re-election and the crazies are supporting him. Can you smell the hypocrisy?

If media excludes Spitzer based on his penchant for hookers, they'd have to exclude 99% of the male pundits for similar, if not the same, lapses in judgment. We have all 'sinned', and those who beat their breasts against people like Spitzer, especially given his amazing intellect and thoughtful consideration of current issues, are just plain old hypocrites...

The show will be excluded, and not have ANYTHING to do with hookers.

It has to do with their self destructive editor Joe Klein who has destroyed the network.

Simple and plain, Roland Martin would have done great here, he is a truth teller.

Spitzer is not, just watch the debate he had with Glen Greenwald. Spitzer, a Democrat simply read off the top neocon websites and AIPAC position and made a fool of himself.

The problem is CNN doesnt want talent, they want actors.

This show will fail because it will be lame.
05:46 PM on 06/28/2010
And, how many times have the loudest voices against anothers behavior, been committing the same or worse behavior in secret themselves.
03:03 PM on 06/28/2010
For those who think CNN's new addition is about meaningful contribution to dialogue... It's not. It's about RATINGS. For months CNN has failed by refusing to promote substance over sensationalism. They could have picked a host of other very articulate people but none would have gotten the buzz that the newly reformed governor would have. That spells desperation for higher ratings. Think about it.

Sad thing is, if you follow media, this show will get terrible ratings.

CNN is obsessed with false neutrality, something that worked in the 90's.

It is burying them.
