Don't worry Jim, in the great beyond you'll be feeling the heat for all the lies and harm you and your party cause.

OK, here's the thing, I know we're supposed to tip toe around this issue because we're supposed to bend over backwards to "tolerate" other people's religion, but the problem with people like Sen. Inhofe and the GOP in general is that they think the Earth is only 10,000 years old, also many who run the GOP like perhaps our ex-Pres George W., think we're living in end times and that Jesus could come down on a cloud any day now so there is really no reason to try and improve things here on Earth. I mean global warning is not the only area where these people ignore the science, don't forget they also don't believe in stem cell research and evolution.
08:02 PM on 07/24/2010
So ironic, because global warming is not science. It is religion.

Hmmm..lets see empirical evidence supporting global warming versus no evidence supporting the big three religions. Yep, you're right...

You know, you "skeptics" can say that as many times as you want; doesn't make it true. Backing up AGW are mountains of evidence, libraries full of peer-reviewed research, and the overwhelming majority of actual scientists.

That is called "science."

On the other side, there's no evidence, no research, and no scientists to speak of. Only repeated claims that man is too puny to affect climate or that it's just a cycle (although WHAT cycle, we can't say) or that it's not even warming (screw those thermometers, they're wrong, I just know it).

That is called faith.

One would think that if they truly believe that we are in the end times, that they would work very hard to be Christian-like and help the poor and needy. Because if I truly believed that Jesus was due any day to come down on a giant cloud and talk to everyone in their native tongue, I would be giving every penny to charity, on myknees all the time and trying to win my way into Heaven. These people cannot possibly believe Jesus is coming any day now, because if they did, they'd be real Christians, doing everything they could for Jesus. Not doing everything for money.

NOAA, NASA: We are experiencing the hottest year on record this year, globally.

Senator Incompetenthofe: "I DON''T THINK.....that anyone disagrees with the fact that we actually are in the middle of a cold period that started about nine years ago."

Senator Incompetenthofe has just now both stated and proved that he doesn't think.
For example, if we are in the middle of a cold period, how can it be the hottest year on record thus far?

And how can it be a "fact" that we are in the middle of a cold period? It would only be possible to declare as a fact that we are in the middle of a cold period some time in the future, a time in the future equal to elapsed time between the start of the cold period and the present. And the temperature at that time would have to be... well.... cold....and future events can be guesssed, but they are not facts until they occur.

Oh wait... I forgot... we are not dealing with a reasonably intelligent high school math student here, are we.... we are dealing with

SENATOR INCOMPETENTHOFE..... A man who has a fossil fuel money magnet glued to his wallet.

Why do you "skeptics" continuously attempt to refute global averages using local data? It is just bizarre.

We have record high GLOBAL AVERAGES. Do you understand what that means?

Do you understand that those global averages INCLUDE Argentina?

Is it your understanding that a record high global average means that there has to be record heat EVERYWHERE?

Actually, the "bunch of tubes" came from Sen. Ted Stevens of Alaska. Stevens was also an advocate of the "Bridge to Nowhere" up there in looney land. Anyway, you have Inhofe and Stevens correctly in the same box - two of a kind. Sad sad sad.

The GOBP is so obsessed with changing the Constitution can we start with the small states losing an inordinate amount of control over how the nation is governed. How can we move into the 21st Century and beyond if the gun fetishists, r*cists and science deniers can grind our lives to a halt. And Let's vote out their pet blue lap dogs too

There's no point in arguing about climate change anymore, we are past the tipping point, it cannot be reversed even if we stopped spewing carbon into the atmosphere today. So all the idiot naysayers have won the battle, but we have all lost the war,

Denialist Science: If you are walking in an active railroad tunnel, and a bright light is coming towards you, and it sounds like a train, do you get your butt out of there, or do you keep walking down the middle of the tracks because your buddy, Senator Inhofe, has told you not to believe your eyes and ears?

Inhofes is just an elected lobbyist. If he didn't get his support/paycheck from the auto industry and all the supporters of that industry he would probably take a different stand. I'm sure he has convinced himself, especially as he is depositing is ill-gotten loot, that he is right and the climate changer advocates are wrong. Is it really worth the risk Jimmy? What if you aren't right, well you will be dead when that is proven the case, but your kids will have to live with your decisions.

Pretty. Where does it come from and does it really refute the MOUNTAIN of data that tells us climate change is real and not a talking point for socialism?
07:32 PM on 07/24/2010
The data comes from the Global Historical Climate network as compiled by the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration.

And yes, in fact it does refute the falsified data that is being used to push this Carbon Exchange/Goldman Sachs/British Petroleum scam. Thanks for asking.

Denialist Science: Sample one point on a 7000 mile diameter sphere and extrapolate the average temperature of the rest of the sphere from that one point. Ignore the sum total of all other temperature readings. Refer only to websites that support your distorted view of reality.

A Nine Trillion dollar fossil fuel revenue stream cannot possibly be wrong.....
can it?
07:34 PM on 07/24/2010
Or you could just sample from all over, giving special weight to the data that shows warming, then add a big fudge factor to the whole thing.
