For only a trillion $ and a few tens of thousands of lives, we have been able to completely transform Iraq. Thank you GWB

2010.07.28 (Karbala, Iraq) - Jihadis take down sixteen innocents in a rocket attack.
2010.07.28 (Baghdad, Iraq) - Six people waiting in line at a bank lose their place in life, courtesy of Muslim bombers.
2010.07.28 (Mosul, Iraq) - A young girl is among five Iraqis murdered in a series of Mujahideen attacks.
2010.07.28 (Nimroz, Afghanistan) - Twenty-five bus passengers are murdered in a bloody bombing by Sunni fundamentalists.

Just another day at the office.

Your website is no better than a KKK website, it's so full of religious bigotry.
That you conflate Sunni and Shia violence only demonstrates your ignorance.

It's an incendiary site -- no doubt about that. I really pay little attention to their own commentary. It's sort of like a huffpuff of the anti-Islam crowd, a convenient place to go with links to all the global media coverage of the latest atrocities. The body count is what interests me the most -- it is a stark and undeniable reminder of the sort of people we're dealing with (and the sort you're apologizing for).

Agreed... Saddam is looking better and better in hindsight. A wise president would have sought an alliance with him against Iran. Now we'll never know.

So you think we should have backed a country where the Shia majority were oppressed and force them to attack their brother Shia in Iran? How was that supposed to work? Why do you hate the Shia of Iran? Have they invaded anybody?
12:18 AM on 07/30/2010
I thought the first rule of Obama Fight Club is no one talks about Obama Fight Club......

This is the first story about Iraq I've seen in months.
12:52 AM on 07/30/2010
They need to get people back on board... or at least try. These wars are losing a lot of public support and we need to have troops flanking Iran when we go in there.
10:04 AM on 07/30/2010
I haven't heard a story about Iran in months either. I guess closing your eyes and pretending it doesn't exist is the primary strategy for this administration and the media.

And to think, these atrocities are only possible because Dubya opened up Iraq to AQ when he lied to the world.
12:15 AM on 07/30/2010
How right you are..........can't we put Dubya on trial for lying to the American people and put him in prison for the murder of all the service men and women that he killed? Shouldn't he pay some how instead of living the good life on his fancy ranch in Texas? I really really really hate that man.

If Harper was truly the world leader he attempts to project himself as then Bush would have been arrested for war crimes when he entered Canada. Instead Harper just proved he's a Republicant lap dog.

Someone please tell why the minds of the men in the middle east are so screwed up? Don't their mothers and fathers raise them to be decent human beings? Why is there so much hate in these people? Do they honestly think that doing this is going to win friends and influence people? I have tried for years to figure this out..........I like the study of religion because this helps me to understand other people.......this is just plain barbaric(sp? pls forgive). They are acting like wild animals in the wild, not civil human beings.

There is a reason.

Why would a religion promote "death to the infidels"? Why would a religion promote death to someone if one isn't a believer of Islam? Shouldn't a belief in religion come from the heart and soul for that person only? Why force views and opinions on other people when they have their own views and opinions? I am one who would never force my views or opinions on another person.........I have a strong belief that all human beings are entitled to their own views and opinions. For Islam to promote death to anyone who isn't a believer of that religion just seems so cruel and wrong. I love my freedom of speech and religion. I am glad I was born an American and brought up to have respect for all human beings until they do acts of terrible cruelty against the human race. I won't tolerate cruelty against abused women, children or animals.
I saved your article in my "favorites" so that I can take the time to read it in depth and study it. Any suggestions on books of Islam?

Take a look at conservatives in the US (men and women). They are just as screwed up.

Hate does that to people, irregardless of religion.

> Do you condemn ALL terrorists?

Yes. Do you?

> In a 1986 study of domestic terrorism

OK... so a tiny splinter group killed 7 people over a span of 18 years.

That would equal the number of people killed by Muslim terrorists yesterday.

Oops, no - sorry. They killed 52 people yesterday. My mistake.

This will be a problem for a while. To be frank, its a problem in a lot of places (and not just in the middle east.)
Terrorism will exist, 2 guys hopped up on god fever or sectarian hate or whatever, can shake society at will. However, at this point, I do believe that both the ISF and the government are capable of handling it. I dont think another sunni/shia civil war will break out again (the Kurds breaking off however.....), nor do I think groups like Islamic State of Iraq or JAM are going to take over the country. Furthermore, I dont see these things causing any significant changes in our redeployments

I believe that this incident is being blamed on Al Qaeda in order to try to whip up support for this war - the support for both wars are at an all-time low and I believe that there is a ramping up to go after Iran. In that case, we will need to have them cornered from both sides. I sincerely hope I am wrong but it has become clear to me that we are all subjects of the military industrial complex. Two years ago I would have argued that this was not the case but no more.

No it doesn't - the Sunnis have been staging terrorist attacks against the Shia in Iraq for several years not. This is Saudi foreign policy at work.

I blame the Sunnis. They have the most interest in keeping the US inside of Iraq, and they are playing up the al Qaeda angle.
08:41 PM on 07/29/2010
Definitely a false flag. There is no "al Qaeda." Probably a Shia message to the American influenced Sunnis in Baghdad but who knows at this point.
11:23 PM on 07/29/2010
Definitely a false flag?
Definitely?
How did you reach that conclusion?

What I would like to see is the enemy casualties, the ratio is almost always in our favor.
