Not even this will ever make the republican right-wing conservatives changes their minds it will only strengthen their determine. One can only hope the republican centrists are listening.

Speaking from the “Great Divide” and using words spoken to me from members of my own immediate family who’s only admitted sources of information are Fox News and US New and World Reports, “You are so very misinformed”. Guess I’m glad to be so misinformed!

How can Fox be "fair and balanced" when they give $1,000,000 to the GOP just for not being democrats?
07:13 AM on 08/18/2010
Cost to have a big influence with the Republican Governors Association: One million dollars

Having a major television network to shamelessly advance propaganda and spread misinformation while having the funds to make the courts support the use of the word 'news' to describe said practices: Priceless

ChrisJone, I stand corrected. I should not have said all Australians. That was very presumptious of me to say ALL. I know there are some very good people out there and I did not intend to include those who treat people like people in that category; But I am totally convinced that Murdock is a racist.

I haven't allowed Fox News in my home for years. I knew they were biased and hateful!!! The only person that I thought had ANY merit was Greta but even she slithered down to the level of the rest of them. Why they have the ratings they do is beyond me. Wonder how many they will hire from the next batch of losers from the election.

Remember to drop the Supreme Court" a thank you note for granting Corporations "PERSONHOOD".

Oh, does this have any impact on "Fair & Balanced"?

Speaking of Corporations and personhood:

"Elliott notes that two of the billionaire donors “made their fortune in the oil and gas industry.” One, Harold Simmons, “was the sole funder” of “a group that ran ads attempting to tie Obama to Bill Ayers in 2008.” Rove acknowledged earlier this month that his group raises money successfully largely because the Supreme Court’s decision in Citizens United opened the door to unlimited corporate donations in politics."

Our food is labeled better than our nation's sources of information. A company cannot call its eggs "organic" unless it's been proven to have a legal "organic" origin. Is it too much to ask to protect consumers from corporations that advertise news as "fair and balanced" and, well, "news" when it so blatently supports one point of view and thus ceases to be "news?" I have no problem with FOX News claiming to be the voice of the Republican party, or the Conservative point of view, whatever. But calling it "news" is a lie.
07:20 AM on 08/18/2010
Alas, yes it is too much to ask. Some one did ask last year to have this addressed in court. A Florida Appeals court ruled there is absolutely nothing illegal about lying, concealing or distorting information by a major press organization. The court reversed the $425,000 jury verdict in favor of journalist Jane Akre who charged she was pressured by Fox Television management and lawyers to air what she knew and documented to be false information.

once and for all THIS should wipe away any doubts that Fox News is nothing more than a mouthpiece for the GOP. It's NOT news journalism , It's propaganda .

Factor in the HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS in on-air support Faux GIVES the GOP/Teabaggers and in employing it's CANDIDATES - and this "little gift" pales in comparison . . .

While this is, as many have stated, no real shock it is abhorent. Although Fox will likely keep up it's pretense of "fair and balanced" news this donation clarifies exactly how unbalanced and unfair Fox truly is...The FCC should make them drop News from all of their broadcasts and replace it with GOP mouthpiece.

I thought Murdoch entered the US under false pretense.

He ONLY wanted t be a US citizen so she could by US Radio & TV, as required by law.

That's really grounds to be a US citizen, isn't it?

$200 million. That's what Republican-aligned special interests have pledged to spend on the 2010 election. When our administration and this movement decided to take on the special interests, we knew we were making a choice. And the consequences are clear. These groups have fought us at every turn in our struggle for change, and now they're trying to drown out our voices -- and our accomplishments -- with their campaign cash this fall.

We're not going to sit back and let that happen. Today, Organizing for America is announcing the By the People Fund with the goal of getting 3 million citizen donations to fuel our grassroots campaign for the upcoming election.

With our By the People Fund, we're going to make a statement this fall and holding the Republicans and their special-interest allies accountable.

We've all gone to the mat with these folks time and again. Now these groups have one goal in mind when it comes to November 2nd -- erasing the progress we've made together.

By spending an unprecedented amount of cash to support Republicans, they're doing their best to buy their way back into power. It's no wonder that each and every Republican in the Senate on Tuesday voted to allow these special interests to have a greater say in our elections. Their vote will allow these groups to spend millions on campaign ads -- and not have to reveal who's actually behind them. https://donate.barackobama.com/ByThePeople.
