"We understand Nathan's desire to get face time on the most watched news network. And when he can offer insight on a legitimate news story instead of conducting a dishonest publicity stunt, we will consider having him on as a guest."

So said the "Propoganda Minister"

Here is a link to a very interesting web site
List of donors to the gop and dems.
You can see that pharmacy companies contribute primarily to the gop (explains the gops opposition to health care bill)
Also General Motors big contributors to the gop
and UPS huge contributors to the gop- (ups- guess I will be using fed ex from now on)
and not surprising unions to the dems.

I like that after our back and forth you posted this. I had seen this but did not want to post the link, as I don't know the source for web site. I hope it's impartial and not a left or right driven site.
10:38 AM on 08/18/2010
It appears that the web site is neither right nor left but actual numbers for donations
It breaks down as expected Pharma for gop and unions for dems
I think the theory that BP supports dems is certainly erron. since 70 percent has been donated to gop

I think the top 20 are interesting.

I just round down the #’s from this link, and organized them real quick for conversation.
Political interest group expenditures 1989-2010 and broke them into relevant groups.

#1 Unions-323 Million $’s
#2 Business- 158 Million $’s
#3 PAC Act Blue-40 Million $’s
#4 Lawyers-32 Million $’s
#5 Medical-25 Million $’s

Good link.

Humans - temporary occupants of this planet

I've said this on Huff Post before, but I have a family member who is a fairly high ranking person at Fox in NY. I've been to the Fox News Headquarters on many occasions and it baffles me to no end. The place is filled with your typical New York, liberal crowd. I've asked my family member many times why all those left wing liberals (including him) work for such a right wing organization and he says it's only the "talent" that is really right wing and not the behind the scenes staff. He said most of them would prefer to work for CNN, but don't want to live in Atlanta. Go figure....I think it's a REALLY bad career move and totally bad for one's karma.

It's very sad that the supreme court put a big "For Sale" sign on our government. We will live to regret it.

better pray for another term for Obama so he can nominate more fair minded judges to the supreme court.

America's gonna die. The biggest outlet of information in the country is bankrolling, propagandizing, and shilling for one side of the political spectrum. And there's nothing any of us can really do about it.

I agree with you, but you're being a tad over the top pessimistic, aren't you? And this is coming from someone who tends to be on the pessimistic side.

The hope is pretty much gone for me. What can an individual do to influence the political process now? Write a blog? Why bother when corporations (including ones that should probably be neutral) can dump millions into campaigns?

The Republican party needs help getting re-elected to the Presidency. Thanks to the Supreme Court they may now be able to buy the Presidency. Thank you Justice Roberts and Justice "not true" Alito.

Faux News is the republican propaganda network.

No seriously believes the Faux News reports the news. Faux massages news to put the proper spin on it or if that doesn’t work they just make up stories.

Faux is a cable tabloid, republican propaganda ministry and a venue for soft porn.

However, with all the hideous and loathsome things Faux News do they can never be accused of reporting news.

MSNBC, with half truths, attacks and distortions escorted Obama to the White House while attacking anyone who questioned him.

Geez wiz, cash poor General Electric (parent of NBC) makes billions from Obama's green science hoax policies.

How is that for fair and balanced.

Faux claims to "fair and balanced" but clearly are the mouthpiece of the teabaggers. They have proved that once and for all.
08:35 AM on 08/18/2010
I really wish people would educated themselves before commenting
Fox is a news organization that claims to be fair and balanced
Thus they should contribute equally to the dem and gop- they have not
GE who owns NBC contributed equally to the RNC and DNC ( public knowledge disclosure)
The contribution by Fox is to put money into the hands of the gop who elect gov.
More gop gov. during a time after the cenus allow the redistricting to be controlled by the gop
similiar to the situation in Texas with Tom Delay districting and the gop gaining 7 addtional house seats.

My inexplicably right-wing sister was in town recently for a visit. She was married to a Chicago-school economist, a high school sweetheart, who was also a YAF member in college who opposed withdrawing from Vietnam. They broke up in a ugly way, and he recently passed away at the young age of about 58. My sister was afraid that her former mother-in-law would talk favorably about her ex at her daughter's wedding. I made the comment, trying to be humorous, that they could do what they do on Fox News and turn down the mic on her. As I was walking out, my sister shouted, "Fox is fair and balanced, not like CNN". She still has the right wing politics.
